Hi maleek49, we had ants last year and we bought some ant traps. You can get them anywhere, even the dollar store has them. What happens is that something in the attracts the ants and they go in and take whatever it is that kills them back to their colony. I know we put a few in our house in corners and we didn't have any more ants.

first of all, locate the ants, the hole where they are coming from, then put spme baby powder (it must contain Diatomaceous earth) in it, the ants will not cross the powder and most probably will die immdtly when they touch the powder, make sure to put an adequate amount in the entrance and also on top of them if they are dispersed, repeat it for 2-3 days, u r sure to get rid of them, dont disturb them unnecesrly or else they will get irritated and move somewhere else in the house, in the grassy areas outside, use soap water, just sprinkle over the ground...hope that helps

Use bleach to wipe down the counters/floors every evening, and set out some borax where you're seeing them. It's slow acting so it won't kill them right away, but they take it back to their colony and share it.

I am not sure if there is a difference in sugar ants and those little black ants we get, but what we do is take used coffee grounds and spread a fine line all around our house. For some reason the ants will not cross it. I have to do it about once a week and it takes about 3-4 cups of used coffee grounds. It works for us. I have also heard that you can draw a white chalk line in front of your doors and the ants won't cross it, but I have never met or talked to anyone who actually really tried it. Hope this helps.
