I think at this moment I am quite fed up with my job. Everyday is too repetitive for me,doing the same things over and over again. It's really so boring, seems like not challenging at all. What should I do about this? Should I quit my job or how? But I am scared of making any changes in my job,I am so worried if I have made any wrong decisions. Maybe I should appreciate what I am having now instead of complaining. Or maybe I should do something else to occupy my spare time to avoid me from thinking nonsenses. How about you? Do you feel fed up with something else at this moment? What would you do about this? Please share, winks.

OMG...I know I have outgrown the type of work I do. I actually can get done with my duties in 1-2 hours. I am extremely bored and unchallenged. But I try not to dwell on it. I am always looking and hoping something will come along that is right for me. I am careful not to be impatient and just jump ship. I recently started reading a lot more. I read on my breaks. I meditate when I get home which helps keep me peaceful and patient. I try not to complain but find different ways to keep my mind active while at work.

3 months back I felt same like you I immediately resigned from my present company and got an opportunity to join another company with 100% hike on my salary , I felt it is long time I have been there and everything looked routine for me, I am not suggesting you to do the same thing but before taking any decision think twice. If you dont have growth opportunities it is better for you to search new job if you are happy with your present pay then your old office will be the best for you.

Before you think about quitting, why not talk to your supervisor first and tell him/her that you are bored with your current responsibilities and whether there was any chance of you doing more or picking up other interesting tasks that you have not done before. Is there further on the job training you can do to further your career? or to gain more experience within the company? No harm in talking with them first before you think about leaving. That's what I would do first and go from there.

If I'm fed up with anything, I'd like to spend a vacation or holiday away from it. In the vacation, I would really enjoy myself as much as I can so as to throw away all the pressures and boredom. After which, I can work again and it's like I'm starting a new phase of my life.

If your job is really that boring, maybe you should quit and find a new job. Why make life miserable if you really fed up with it. Before that, maybe you can talk to your boss about it, see if there is any turning point? Don't worry of changes. Sometimes, if you don't try out, you would never know whether you will like it or not. If don't like, can always find a new one. Just take it as a life experience, you won't loss anything. If you like it, then it's a gain. It's a challenge.

I posted a reply to a discussion here at mylot nearly a year back - that member used to get frustrated for being forced to pass idle time at work place. And I suggested something that eventually turned out to be helpful. First get consent from your heart - is there anything else for which you are in doubt about continuing your present job? If not, and if you are getting bored to pass idle time - then why not spend sometime to prepare draft posts for posting at mylot? This is just a clue for using your spare time, if any. So far as I am concerned I never let time go idly - either I write something, or design a new layout on the fly. Also during my free hours I prepare plans to organize my work. I have read somewhere else planning is a great way to stay motivated, and I use it a lot.

If you are that fed up with your job maybe you should in your spare time take the time and apply other jobs that might more appeal to you before you decide to quit. Lot of times people get tired of there job maybe you could talk to your boss and maybe seek a different position. You do have options but you need to think about what you really want to do and what time of job you would like to do.

I think everyone gets to that point in their lives where they think: what is the point to all this? A job is no different. The problem with leaving a job is finding another to replace it. If you're in a position like mine it would cost more to leave it then it would to grin and bear the worst of it. Look at the good things your job gives you and think about that. There is nothing worse then meditating on the bad because you mind with find evidence that it is bad which makes it all even worse!

I think, if you are getting paid well enough and your job is stress free, you should not bother much. There are many people who want to do some job, but cannot get one. If you feel your job boring, try to make some changes to your current job. If you are not getting paid well enough, then you should really try to look for a better job. Since boring and not well paying job is really a bad combination. I wish you all the best with you work. :)

Hello yenwie84, In life you have to take chances, when you are feeling like this about your job you have to move to more exciting new project, look for something else before you leave your job so in that way if you don't the job you are still in a job. Maybe you are looking for some thing in life but don't know what? or take up a hobbie. You will o.k. Tamara

yenwie, from your description of your job it sounds pretty interesting to me. Is it that you are bored or you don't like the people you work with or something else? I would think hard about this before quitting to do something else. It is difficult to find a job nowadays. I know you are young and smart but you need to give this careful thought. I know you will do the right thing. You have to do what is best for you.

I worked in a big company and earned good money. But there was little chance of promotion and the work is not challenging that almost every one can do it. I was so tired of it that i leave there at last. It is hard to say that my situation is better now, but i never regret my choice. Unchanged life make me feel like aged and i try to keep a young heart all the time.
