i suffer from anxiety quite a bit. so the other day i finally mustered up the courage to tell my family doctor. she gave me clonazepam to take PRN, and i must say, it works. i'm really happy about this. i'm not one to take medications...i usually do not take anything, but this is helping, so i think i'll give it a fair chance.

i personally believe that medication indeed can do wonders to help us overcome anxiety, depression or any mental conditions for that matter. you see, you can't just tell yourself to simply get over it and be a 100% successful on it. our brain is compose of certain hormones that enables it to function properly. this is where these medications come in to help us cope with our struggles. there is nothing wrong with trying to be honest with yourself and ask help from medical professionals and you have nothing to lose. in addition to using medications, you can also try doing some form of meditation and exercise that suits you. it is also important to have a reliable support system from friends and family. stay happy!

I've had a prescription for clonazepam for years, I'm only supposed to take it PRN, which means "as needed", and really I hardly ever take it. But if I ever have an anxiety attack, one little pill will calm me down in about 10 to 20 minutes. It works wonders.

It is really difficult to get past anxiety. I was given alprazolam almost 9 months ago. Yes, it did help and I agree, sometimes we really need it but not to point that we always need it just for satisfaction. That was a brave thing you did and definitely the best first step. I wish you all the best. Take care.

I'm glad you're having success with the clonazepam. I would suggest, however, that you talk to a psychiatrist and see if they would recommend something less addictive. I take it for other reasons and it's very, very difficult to wean off of, if you're taking it regularly. I think it's great that you brought it up with your doctor and are getting some relief! Taking charge of your mental health and keeping yourself healthy is a step so many people don't take and it can lead to such awful circumstances. I hope it continues working well for you.
