I would like to assume that everyone of us has joined or participated in parlor games when you were young. We all love attending kiddie parties not only to eat good food but to join these quick games and win some prizes or cash. There are games such as "Trip to Jerusalem", "Longest Line", "Softdrink Drinking contest", "Stop or Statue Dance", etc. I have uploaded a picture of one the games which we call "Pabitin" in my country of origin. I am not sure how it is called in other countries and I do not know the direct english translation as well. But the game is played by lowering a bamboo mesh with a lot of toys/prizes hanging on it. The participants will try to get/grab these prizes when it is lowered. I don't know if I am making sense
, please see the photo to get a clearer idea.
How about you, what where the games that you joined when you were a kid? Did you win?

Kids love parlor games. When i was a child, i used to attend
parties where there are parlor games. During fiestas, birthdays,
family reunions and chritsmas seasons, parlor games is always
present. There's a lot of fund and enjoyment especially if you
win the game. Games i played were: (trip to Jerusalem, Maria went
town, newspaper dance, bring me soemthing.............and many
more) I sometimes win and sometimes not but the idea here is
to enjoy and have fun!

yeah i do love playing parlor games..^_^ and up to now we still play some of it but has little twist so that it will not be boring and will be told as a kids game..for example the trip to Jerusalem..guys are the replacement of chairs and they are all standing with an egg plant on their hips..hahahaha and girls will do the dancing while circling around them then when the music stops the girls will grab the egg plants and whoever failed to hold an egg plant loses the game..^_^

Yeah.. who didn't? I think it's SOP in our country to join these games. LOL!
We used to have these games in birthday parties, Christmas parties, in school, HECK, we even play these games now that we're old and there's an occasion.
i don't think there's "pabitin" in other countries. I know they have "Pin the tail on the Donkey" while we don't have that.

who doesn't love parlor games?
I miss those moments, where you look so silly, trying to win in that game. I always participated in parlor games.. not just when I was a kid, but every time there's a party.. like birthdays, Christmas party, etc.. It was so fun, and another way to relieve your stress even for a moment..
and I what I love is that, the laughing trip, and the gifts.![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

As a kid i enjoy participating on some parlor games at school party, birthday party or even any family celebration.Well i did the stop dance and the opposite of it-you dance when the music stops-weird!Balloon burst-where balloon contains anything from plain water to colored ones and sticky and powder-of course with a price
.Dance contest also on a fiesta---got to share the position because they can't break the tie,but we've got separate prize.![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

Hi there Muelitz!
I love participating in parlor games when I was younger. I may not really as excited as the others but I would join in as many parlor games available. They were definitely fun. What makes the games more exciting and cool are the prizes in store for those who win each game. I practically played all those that are on your list.

Well I have always been an active fellow. When I was a kid I would join all parlor games I can manage to do and more often than not I would emerge the winner. And now at my age I also do participate in parlor games for adults in our church activities or even in other parties where parlor games would be thrown. I don't mind whether indoor or outdoor...for as long as I know I can do the game then go! I believe that age should not prevent us from remaining active. I always want my life to be lively and enjoyable.
