Recently, I have been downloading torrents with BitLord and appearently, I cannot download torrents that fast. I usually get 5kB/s - 10kb/s. I have a fast internet connection, but even though there are many seeders, the speed is really slow. I would appriciate any help of yours.

From what i assume , i think the problem you are facing is that you havent done partforarding. go to www.portforward.com and you'll get details on how to do that. When you dont do portforwarding others cannot connect to you properly. Also, sometimes people ban clients like bitlord(i do too) so i suggest you switch over to utorrent (or azureus). and you might also want to try this link. You can download remotely using torrents without using any torrent client directly from your browser. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/929165/download_torrents_directly_from_your.html?cat=15

That is right. Download speed for a torrent depends on a few factors. Just you having a good speed connection doesn't help. Basically you need many people sharing the file you want to download, this helps increasing the speed. If there is not much of seeding, you will probably take time to download the file. Even if you get 50kbps speed, that is of no use if there are not many seeders. If there is seeding available, the peers will also need to have a good speed connection, as you have. This is download the torrent fine. Also, you the peers set the upload and download speeds differently. If they set the upload speed very low, you won't get to download a file fast. Its just about getting all the combination right, which you can not control all the time.

Kee updating the tracker after some hours.Try limiting your upload speed a bit but don't limit too much I usually get around 20 kbps from my internet connection of 128 kbps and restrict the uploading limit to 3 kbps and it's fine from my point of connection speed. I also change port some times,I don't know if that works or not but my friends say it help so you might try that also.

The download speed for torrents depends on seeders. If you get poor download speed try to search a better torrent that has good seeders. Or try for Rapidshare for good download speed.

First, you can try downloading other things,if they are fast, then the problem is not your computer or internet connection. But if they are still slow, try reinstalling the BitLord or using other downloading tools. If this does not work, sorry i can't help you.

I'm using BitComet and sometimes i get a speed of few Mb/s from local torrent sites and few hundred Kb/s from international torrent sites. Mostly is about the number of seeders though... Good luck.
