Here We Go Again - Strange Activity Happening In The House

This morning I woke up and went into the bathroom and on the side of the bath the word 'AMY' was written in sponge letters that my four year old son has. He was alseep when I arrived home with him after a day out yesterday and I was the first to wake this morning. When I left the house yesterday all his sponge letters that stick to the bath or tiles where away in the container they come in. Years ago when my daughter now 17 and I lived in Surrey there was a little girl called Amy then who used to get up to all sorts of tricks, my daughters 'invisible friend' but she really was a ghost of a little girl. She used to hid hairbrushes, open doors, grab fish from the tank, turn gases on, throw money down the stair all sorts. A very long story but she was eventually sent to the light so is this just coincidence? I am not frightened at all just bemused as to why of all names that should appear should be AMY again. Thoughts on this one please. No-one else has a key so don't think anyone playing a trick, both daughters living away agin at the moment so just myself and my son here. Do you believe in ghosts? Was it me just not realising some letters had been left on the bath yesterday and they happened to have accidentally made the name AMY.? Please share your thoughts and views on this one. Ellie :D

hmm..that is pretty weird isnt it? i would chalk it up to coincidence until something involving the name Amy happens again.
perhaps she didnt go to the light after all, perhaps she is attached to you or some piece of furniture etc, that came with you in the move to your current home? never know lol!
tell us if the name shows up again!

Hi CinderInMySoul, Yes a strange one, as it is the same name and after all these years too, will keep you updated if anything else happens. I don't even know anyone of that name in life nor do any of my family so to reappear again did suprise me a bit. Ellie :D

That would be very scary, I think... But if it clearly was AMY, I don't think it could have been an accident.

Hi IronMaiden, The letters were very clearly AMY in that order. I was reading when I went to bed last night and could here movement but things like that don't really bother me, however I was a bit suprised when I got up to see that these letters had appeared like that. As I say years ago it began as mishief to get attention but then became dangerous with the gases turning on and that type of thing so I did investigate what had been there before as also one of the rooms used to fill with smoke and got the chimney checked but no cause and it was an old orphanage. But all these years late in a completely different home miles from previous one did joly me a bit, but not scared. Ellie :D

It certainly is very strange, but I guess it could be coincidence. I guess if it happened again THEN I would be inclined to think otherwise. Has anything else weird happened apart from that?
It sounds like you had a scary experience though all them years ago, we get strange things happen in the house but nothing too severe. Just little things that are so little we are not really sure they actually happened! I also find they are happening less the more I change the house about!
It is weird because I am half and half when it comes to believing in ghosts, I believe but then there is a part of my brain that comes along and says "yes but"!

Hi Gemini_rose, I was fine all those years ago until the mischief became dangerous, like the gas been turned on that sort of thing and she was funny really mostly like at my daughters third birthday my daughter suddenly turned round and said Amy is here and looked to the centre of the sofa and you could see an indent both Sarah & Caroline two mothers that were sat eithside shot up off of the sofa and ran out but the kids were fine with it. That fact that the name AMY appeared did suprise me. There is nothing here in this house and built also on virgin land but occasionally there is something that passes through and have been a few incidents but this one unexplained. Will post more if anything else happens. Ellie :D

Hi Gemini I know you have experienced and in fact some of it would totally freak me but once it has happened you seem to question whether or not it was imagined eh! so I know where you are coming from on it. If it is her I think she is trying to warn more of something as I don't think she would have ever meant to cause harm but needed attention to help resolve her problems back then which I did in fact do. Very long story though. Even with the gases it was discovered almost immediately, it was whilst I had a room full of people too as I was having a Tupperware party and I went through to make more tea with one of the other guests and all four gas hobs had been turned to on so immediately turned off. We do believe that her family were killed in a fire which is why she was in the orpanage that was where my old house was built as rooms used to fill with smoke too with no cause. Ellie :D

That does sound really scary, I cannot imagine experiencing things like that, yet I have!! Not as dangerous though, turning the gas on could have been disastrous.

alot of responses here are either making fun.. or the typical "just a coincidence" im pretty certain you know better than that 
you said that amy was "sent to the light" and maybe she was.. depending on who did the work and what method theyd used.. but maybe she wasnt. its just yer son and you in the house.. how old is yer son? is he around the same age that yer daughter was when amy was around before? are there other things going on in yer life (or yer sons?) that are similar to the way they were then? you say that yer not frightened by amy`s return.. but if she doesnt give you any apprehension.. why did you have, or attempt to have, her removed before? give these things some thought.. trust yer instincts.. and if you need me, you know where to find me ..;hugs;..

It is strange how the letters spelt out Amy. Maybe its the ghost Amy letting you know she is thinking about you and is pleased to see that you are happy and settled!!??
Maybe some letters were left out but even then, of all the letters it was those that spelt Amy and were spelt that way!! I dont think this is random,it has to mean something!! If it was an accident, it was a very good one especially since you have only noticed it today!!

Hi Cinderella, It definitely wasn't there yesterday as I immediately noticed this morning upon entering the bathroom but had been in there two or three times last night and didn't. It through me because of the name the letters spelt. I would have been shocked to see any on the side of the bath to be honest but this name especially. So question is who put the letters there? I think maybe it was a message to say hi or maybe a warning of some sort but I am ok with it and have checked fire alarms etc just in case as I associate her with fire. Ellie :D

Maybe you should write her a message back saying hi and see if she replies. It is odd but I cant explain it. She must be warning you about something, is it a good or bad warning??....lets hope its good!!!

Oh my goodness Ellie! I really DO believe in ghosts, and the hair went up on the back of my neck when I read what you'd written. The things that happened when your daughter was little sound like typical poltergeist activity, which supposedly is most likely to occur when there is a child's energy in the house. I'm surprised you didn't pee yourself on the spot. If it were me, I'd like to think it was a coincidence the letters spelled out the name - but it's pretty creepy, and I hope you can sleep tonight!

Hi Guybrush, It doesn't frighten me at all, I was just suprised that it was the name AMY that had appeared so I will sleep tonight. When the original AMY was around I remember 23 hairbrushes in a year go missing and they would sudddenly turn up in the most bizarre places and places that my small daughter at the time even through climbing couldn't get too. Ellie :D

well, i don't know seriously... it might be just a coincidence like you say or you forgotten that you had left the words from the day before... anyway, if it happens again, then may be it is something superficial happening there... i wouldn't worry much about it until it happens again... take care and have a nice day...

I have no fear of spirits , those that haven't crossed, or
whatever you think they are. We have had things happen in this house for years.
Tvs volumn up or turn on when off. The latest is that when turned off my
printer will pop on and a blank sheet of paper will fly through it.
If it's a harmful spirit you might want to call in someone, otherwise just
let it be.

Hi Raydene, I don't feel anything harmful here at all and like you I am fine with things like this, it just suprised me that it was the name AMY that appeared and I am wondering what the purpose of it was really. I am more frightened of the living LOL, they seem capable of doing much more harm to us eh! Ellie :D

The funny thing about my name is that the first and second are the same name as the original amityville - and I used to live on long island - but its not me.
I was named after a character in Little Women. I'm more like JO though - the one who married Mr. Baer.

You know there is a theory that there is so much trapped energy and emotion in children that they are actually responsible for poltergeist activity. When Amy showed up before, were your other kids teens - is the son there now a teen or pre- teen - was the move difficult for him?

I'm not an expert but it could be. If it happens again then you know it could be a ghost in the house. I haven't had anything like this happen before to me. Yet the stories that others have had like this one it could be that. You will have to wait and see if something else happens around the house.

Well just be careful. Do not neglect everything stating it as coincidence. But don't let it get in your head too. Just keep a watchful eye for further proofs. Don't mention AMY in front of your son even by mistake and if he mentions that name, just ignore, only in front of him. Try having a family prayer every day in the house. It generates a lot of positive energy. Hope you don't have to go though all this again.

Hi Rup011, I do prayer daily with my son anyway so that will be automatic, I am quite a balanced person so will not let it affect me either way but will be aware of anything strange. Already since posting I have rememebred things but hopefully this is just a one off. I haven't mentioned her name at all as have only typed or texted about it to people haven't spoken on the phone on face to face as yet but will take heed not to mention name in front of him. Ellie :D

Maybe its your sons imaginary friend now, or Amy is just saying hello because she misses you. Either way I'm going to use it as a ghost story the next time I go camping. "Kids, gather round... This actually happened a long time ago...

Oh I remember your last story, your friends wife putting his sweatshirt in the car for him, loved that one but the suspense when you didn't tell straight away, exccellent, I enjoyed that one. As I do not believe in ghosts and other spiritual things, I think it was just a coincidence that they happen to spell out the name Amy, as you said you might have just forgotten to to remove some of them, it is easily done.

Hi Yes it is easy done but I am 99.9% sure I removed them all and put into the container and then this morning they were there. Surely I would have noticed them last night as I went into the bathroom two or three times before settling for bed but it was immediate this morning when I walked in. Strange anyway. Ellie :D

Hey there ellie333, geez, those where quite frightening and creepy happenings. I do believe in ghosts but I havent seen one my whole life. A lot of my frens have seen them. I always thought that they are in a different plane than ours so they would cross over to our plane whenever we disturb them. In my religion, there's a mention of spiritual beings like angel, devil and genies. So I have to believe that they exist.

It sounds as if you got yourself an attachment from your previous residency at the place where the orphanage burned down. Since I am unsure as to how many children or adults passed in the fire, you could have very well had several different spirits, and though you had help to send the spirit to the light, Amy could have very well stayed behind.
Spirit activity is unpredictable at best. There are times where it happens daily, than there are moments where nothing will happen for days, weeks, months, or even years, than suddenly start to pick up again depending on the conditions within your new home, and what your current emotional state may have been at the time, whether happy, sad, stressed, etc. There are a whole host of reasons why things occur, but it's trying to figure out that "why", that is the hard part.
I do believe that there are different levels of existence. I have a hard time believing that we are born, live life, than one day "poof" gone forever, until the powers that be decide we deserve another chance at life on earth. I believe earth is filled with many mysteries us humans have yet to discover, and until proven otherwise I will continue to believe in the existence of spiritual beings that have been trapped here, instead of moving on to that other level of existence.

Hi Jeweledbluerose, yes there are too many things that are unexplained to live without an open mind and the possibility of this I agree. I was just so suprised that it read AMY, would have still thought strange anyway but not as strange of all the names to pick so yes she was very attached to us, like one of the family then so perhaps she still is and is letting us know she is there still eh! The why now is the questioning bit of me, but as everything else seemed to be fire related I have checked fire alarms and done electrical checks just in case it was sent as a warning as that is what my gut feeling is saying. If anything else occurs though I will let you know. I don't feel any danger myself though so perhaps just a dropping by and saying hi thing. Ellie :D

Hi I will definitely keep you informed if there any further developments but yes she may have looked upon me as a mother figure, many of my daughters real friends do so why not Amy especially as she was an orphan herself it does make a lot of sense eh! Ellie :D

I do like to see or hear authentic 'ghost stories'. I think things do happen which we can never explain. To me this seems to be too much of a coincidence to be just chance, otherwiese those letters could have spelled out MAY, YMA, or YAM!
I would not be frightened by something like that, like you I would be intrigued. I don't think you'll ever know the answer but it will be interesting to see if anything further happens. Keep us posted!

Maybe either Amy found a way to come back and say Hi or someone else is saying hi for her...I do know they exist..well their spirits actually and sometimes they need to tell things unsolved or just want to say hi...looks like you will have fun watching for other signs..

Hi Rosekitty, It does seem strange that it was AMY that was written but who wrote it? Maybe she was saying hi as she was almost family for so long when my daughters were little but she did get dangerous with some of the stuff so I had to get help in for her bless. There is nothing in the house at all but sometimes activity passes through. Perhaps she is warning me of something so I will be will aware of something. I will see if anything erlse happens though and keep you posted if it does. Huggles. Ellie :D

Maybe she just wanted you to know she hasn't forgotten about you! Although she's crossed over can she still not visit if she wants to? Not all that sure how it all works it could be coincidence but my gut instinct says no wow thats weird while i'm typing this lonley kept coming into my head really strong. Did she do all that stuff because she was lonley and needed attention? How long ago was she sent into the light? Oh sorry i just reread it so it wasn't even in this house? Your in a different house now? Yeh i think she was just saying hello.

Hi mands, She is the same one as I shared the goldfish in the pencil case story about, if you read through some of my other responses from page one you'll get more of the picture of the original AMY. I was suprised rather than shocked to see it there this morning but feel no fear at all so maybe just saying hi as I used to treat her like one of my own when she was with us last time. Her original antics were definitely attention seeking and I did resolve for her. I know you find all this type of stuff fascinating so enjoy the read. LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

Yeh i'm really interested i remember about the goldfish and the couch but i didn't know abnout everything else. As you know my interest is also a bit personal seen as i may or may not be in tune should we say. I know you are and like i said you will have more of a connection with her than anyone else. My gut instinct is that shes come back if you feel strongly that it's a warning then thats probably what it is! I'm not well versed in all this stuff but i often find what i feel strongest or first thought was the right thought. I tend to pick up stuff when i'm near a situation/person/environment so i'm not very good otherwise but i'd definately be getting my gas and smoke alarm checked lol

Hi xomgitskamax, I was so suprised when I saw the name, I probably would have been had it been any name but as it was AMY it was why after all these years, nothing out of the ordinary happened last night or this morning though so perhaps she just came to say hi. Ellie :D
