I know it is still a bit early. But I know that they are some Early Birds here. I am just wondering if anyone here has started Christmas Shopping yet? I have only gotten a couple of things bought myself. When you do you start your Christmas Shopping? When are you usually done by?

Christmas? Whoa! Tomorrow is my kid's first day back to school, so obviously that's what is on my mind today :) Then comes Halloween, then the twins birthday is a couple days before Thanksgiving. Somewhere around then is about when I start thinking about Christmas. I've got all this other stuff to get through first.

Yes, I started mine ages ago and have wrapped most of what I've bought. I buy small things throughout the year as I see them. It spreads the cost and I am more likely to spot interesting things than if I left it all to the last minute. I'll still keep going till the last shopping day though

I usually start in October. I can't stand that month so I try to add a little bit of joy into it. That is usually when I start listening ot Christmas music as well. For some reason it just makes me feel good.

Yes I have started but only because I saw some lovely things in the pound shop for my husband's cousin's family and we only buy token gifts for them. If I see anything what ever time of the year I do pick things up and put them in the cupboard

It helps to have a wife who shops early. My "tradition"(some might say pathetic habit)is to runout to whatever is open latest on Christmas Eve and grab what I can. I might buy early, if I see something that just screams a loved one's name, but that's pretty rare. The funny part is the big debate a bout Louise' gift. If I buy last minute she can't find it or drive me nuts with questions trying to guess it but it I buy early I can torture her by telling everyone else what it is. The whole family gets in on the act telling her "I know Christmas Secrets"

I rarely buy gifts anymore. I send gift cards to our out of state grandkids and our 3 daughters. It's just so much easier since I can't find anything they really like or need. Although last year I did buy our girls a light which was in a cube of glass, like the old bathroom windows, that had a string of Christmas lights inside. It was extremely pretty. A friend has a friend who made them and they were so nice looking I had to get them. Two of our daughters also have birthdays in December so it does get costly.

I am never done until Christmas Day, or later if we see family after Christmas. I just keep on buying or making things until all festivities are over. I have bought one or two things so far. I thought you were going to talk about getting up early. I did, but had to go back to bed. I am wracking my brain for things to make. My problem is that in addition to Christmas, starting this month, and going to February, I have son in law, brother, sister, daughter, son, daughter in law, two grand daugters and a grandson, my husband, and my dad to celebrate birthdays with. Most of them around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I usually don't start shopping big time until Thanksgiving or so. I have gotten gifts as early as September before. Not this year yet. Hell I am just getting used to Halloween stuff on the shelves already. I try to be done Christmass shopping by mid December at the latest. I hate the mad rush of last minute shopping. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's just Tom and I and I don't really have anyone else to buy for, so Christmas and other gift-giving holidays don't really matter to me anymore (Christmas has the real meaning, but not in the commercial sense). I don't know if that makes me lucky or unfortunate.

I have two grown up children and four grandchildren. Soe of them are easy to buy for but some of the others can be difficult to please so I am thinking of just giving them gift vouchers and buy them a small present for the tree. Maybe a funny throw away one.
