for anyone that is not aware yet, todays nascar race has been postponed due to inclement weather from tropical storm hannah. it will NOT be ran today at 7pm. it WILL be ran tommorrow at 1pm. Nationwide will be ran at 7pm tommorrow.

they ran it today, jimmy johnson won. but my question is... why did they run the nextel cup before the nationwide?

If I had to take a guess I would say that they were hoping that by running the Cup race first, all those people would stick around for the Nationwide race. More people means more concession sales so they probably thought they could make more money by running the Cup race first. If they run the Nationwide race first then they won't have as many people in the stands for that race as they would if they ran it after the Cup race. But again, that's just my guess.

if they were ran on time, the nextel race would have been first anyway. they always try to keep them in the same order as originally scheduled.
