I'm sitting here in the middle of chaos

and instead of doing any of the dozen or so things that need to be done I'm myLotting! Please tell me I'm not the only person who does this! I've just go so many different things waiting to be done that I don't want to do ANY of them. I just want it to all go away. Of course, they won't and I know I'm just putting off the inevitable avalanche of tasks coming down on me all at once. Arghhh. Just had to claim that.

I think there are enough myLot members in that same situation that we could start our own 12-step program. Hi, my name is Marie Anne, and I'm a myLot-aholic. (clap clap clap clap)

What a great idea! I could avoid doing even more stuff to make more meetings!

You are defiintely not the only one my friend! I happen to be sitting at my computer wondering if I should get up an do something. You know what? The tasks arent going anywhere. Its good to take time for yourself once in a while. I havent been on my computer since Friday. I am going to enjoy my time home and I will be myLotting alot. You know what I just thought about? I am going to ask my other half if he can help. I think that its about time that he helps. dl

Absolutely! Everyone who lives in the home has some responsibility for keeping it clean. That's my belief. I'm allowing myself to do some myLotting when I feel overwhelmed by "the list" as a coping mechanism. At least that's my excuse tonight.

I can do nothing except mylot right now because I am still healing from surgery. Most of the time, I get everything done before I am on here. I cannot do anything on the computer until I know that all of my work is done.

I hope you are recovering nicely and you don't get myLot addicted in the process! Get well soon!

I am the queen of procrastination. My house needs to be swept, mopped, vacuumed, laundered, and organized, but there's too much. It's overwhelming, to say the least. I should start my laundry so my kids can do theirs, then my boyfriend has a load of work clothes to do, but I don't want to. I'm the mom and I don't have to. That's the #1 thing I need to overcome. My way of thinking. I really should stop being a lazy b!tch, but I don't want to that either. Man! Too many choices on a really long 'to-do' list.

It really is about thinking, isn't it? I get resentful of all the things I'm "supposed" to do rather than the things I "want" to do and just decide to do nothing! And sometimes I think there are too many things to do and since I can't possibly do them all I just won't even start. Now those are just two of the really stupid thoughts that keep me from getting much done. I'm sure there are many more. Thanks.

Don't know where to start hey? Stay on here for a while, the tasks can wait!

At least if you earn a little bit at a time, and leave it in PayPal with money market, you will earn a little interest on it. I am here, it is another night, hubby is working the late shift. I may go on to bed, though, as I am very sleepy. I have some real work related tasks to do tomorrow. Some of your other posts lead me to ask what kind of meetings are at your house.?

Absolutely! No only do the tasks wait, the accumulate! Now if I could just get my savings account to do the same thing!

I wonder what makes it so addictive, this myLotting. Maybe it is the anonymous voyeurism of other people's lives. But it sure is tempting to be commenting her rather than doing chores.

I am with you on this, every step of the way. The thing is, once I start on one of those "other things" and get involved, then I am just as happy doing that. I also am sitting down here when I should be in bed, 'cause hubby found out when we got back to town this pm that he was on the EARLY shift tomorrow. We are getting up at 5:30 a. m. He is in bed, asleep, and I told him about an hour ago I was coming up. LOL

So, did he go off to sleep and not notice how late you were on the computer? We need to get more rest, I think.

Me too. I just moved into my new house five weeks ago and there is a mountain of boxes to be unpacked but am I unpacking them? Not at all. It is way past my bedtime. The boxes have become an eyesore and like you, I am sitting here as happy as the day is long, typing away here on myLot. I tell myself that I will just clear my mailbox and then I will go to bed, but my friends discussions keep flying in and I just have to read and respond to them. Ah well, tomorrow is another day...and I will probably do the same as I did today.

Ahhh, moving. Goodness how I hate it! First you have to pack everything up and realize you have more stuff than you imagined. Then you have to unpack it and find a place to put it all. And then there is the excitement of trying to find things! Sometimes you find it is easier to replace something than to find it among all the boxes. Maybe that is how you got so much stuff in the first place. Hope you are finding your way around all the boxes soon.

You're not the only one hon. Between Mylot and a couple of other sites, I NEVER manage to get anything done around the house. Fortunately hubby has a great sense of humor, and he just shakes his head at me when he gets home from work. LOL

You are fortunate. I am too, I guess. My spouse doesn't care if things get done or not. They are worse about procrastinating than I am. Maybe that's where I got it!

I've done the same thing. I have several things that I could be doing right now. I could be getting some dishes together to be washed or I could be helping my partner fold laundry so that can get finished. Or I could be doing the more important tasks of working on school work. I have several school related things that need started or need finished. However I'd rather be a bit lazy right now. I'd rather do some posts and make a bit of money because money is always nice.

Yeah, sometimes I use the excuse that myLotting is at least earning some money. But really, just how much is my time worth? I'm sure there are better ways to earn money. I gotta be honest and just admit that it is more fun to be here on myLot than the other stuff I'm supposed to be doing.

I know what you mean. I have chosed to sit on the computer at times instead of doing tasks that need to be done at home. For me, it used to be myspace, especially when I first started. Now, if something has to be done, I always take care of my responsibilites first. Then if I have some free time, I'll get online.

My, you really are goodygoody! Getting things done before myLotting. But you are young. You still have time to be corrupted by us senior citizens.

I had been putting off cleaning since June 22nd. Kids went back to school on Thursday..now the house is clean again. It feels and smells good! You just got to do it!

No kids here. But we do have meetings in our home on a fairly regular basis. Thank goodness. Otherwise we'd never get the place in order. We just do the public rooms, however. My office and the bedroom are a shambles.

That is so funny, I was thinking the same thing! I have so many things I need to get done around the house. Its really just addicting to see what other people are posting and of course making money from participating.

The thing about things that need done around the house is that they always need done. You can do them and then you just have to do them again! Boring. At least with myLot there is plenty of variety.

Loads of times I have just sat down in front of my computer and have forgotten about everything else, and the jobs that im meant to be doing dont get done, the things I have made a mental list to do with my day are forgotten.I get a bit mad with myself for sitting networking and just surfing the internet, but its not ding anyone any harm, the only thing it is definately doing is wasting time when I should be ding other things.

I waste gobs of time. Now that I'm retired there doesn't seem to be the urgency to get things done by a certain time and I often just don't do them! Sometimes I feel a little guilty about that, too.

I'm surprised you don't have 1,000,000 responses by now! I think we're all like that sometimes (even all the time I'm sure!). There are days when the last thing I want to do is what's sitting around here waiting for me. It is just putting off the inevitable, but it's so nice to pretend it doesn't exist for a little while. Enjoy while you can!

See, that's just it - I DON'T have to. I can choose to be really rebellious and not do anything important and then have all these regrets later! Nice, huh?
