If Jesus will ask you to be his wife

Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ, preaching the sermon on the mount.

Would you accept his proposal? Imagine Jesus Christ, who (according to Wikipedia) has almost 2 billion followers who admires him so much; others treat him as the greatest man that lived in this world; and the one who shaped mankind's history, is now kneeling in front of you and handed you the most amazing diamond ring then uttered the words "will you marry me?" Ahem! Ahem! Now what... [Your response here] Waiting... waiting...

i dont think it is possible for Jesus to marry because He is a God, though He lived here on earth with a human flesh, He is still holy. In our church, marrying Jesus means serving Him only and not the lord coz this world had two masters :GOd and Satan and you cant serve both, so marrying to HIm means being faithful and truthful to Him.

I think it is possible for Jesus to marry, though I readily admit that He did not marry. Marriage does not make anyone unholy according to Christian belief cos marriage is God's design. Marriage was instituted by God himself before the Fall and so marriage per se is good.

It never said Jesus didn't get married in the Bible. Actually it gives clues that he was probably married to Mary Magdalene.

How do I put this lightly? Oh Hell Noo!First I am not wife material. Second, I don't want children. Third. I am not saint. Fourth, how do you sleep with the Son Of G-d. Fifth, I am not Christian, so I only see Jesus as a good teacher of a course I couldn't pass. And most important. He knows better to ask me when He knows the answer would be no.

I will say,...NO. This is for personal reason,LOL. I think I can't be the right woman for Jesus as he need strong and very patient human being. Why do come up with a discussion like this? What is in your mind while doing this topic? I always needed Jesus and God to save my soul, but in a way that Jesus will propose to me, I rather be a friend than a girlfriend.

That is like a calling to the religious life... i think all Christians and especially Catholics are asked by Jesus to marry him... but it doesn't involve a diamond ring... i felt that calling years ago... and even attended a few search-ins... but i decided to get married... but that doesn't mean my love and faith for the Jesus Christ faded... i just decided to go a different direction in my life... Afterall... free will is one of the essence of being a Catholic...

It is quite difficult not to add religion in this topic... since Jesus Christ is a religious figure... and for us Catholics... He is the Son of God...

Let's disregard religion for now, just IMAGINE Jesus as an ordinary guy with a superb personality - in short, he's perfect (for women that is). So what's your response?

Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the Power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage they will be like the angels in heaven." This is according to Matthew 22: 29-30.

consider that this was in a time when women were literally traded between families in marriage. marriage wasn't then what it is now, an expression of love and commitment, freely entered into by both parties. it was the transfer of ownership from the fathers family into the husbands family. and that old style marriage shouldn't happen. marriage should always be between two in love.

Hmmmmmmmmmm I don’t think so. If I were to take away the religious halo from him, then as an ordinary man, I know little about him, his personality, his sense of humour, his leadership capabilities etc. I don’t even know if he had an income and a roof over his head. If he is an exceptional character connecting with many, there would have to be complications surrounding his everyday existence. It would be like getting married to a superstar of the filmworld or a famous sportstar (OK, they would at least by filthy rich)…since I am a most Plain Jane, the arrangement would not really work out for long or I would have to become a docile wife and accept everything. Both options are not liked by me.

Well, I'm a man and my beliefs about religion and God are different than what the books of religion say. I believe in God completely and I love Jesus Christ for the wonderful man he was. Lets say there is a lady of the stature of Jesus and she is interested in getting married to me, then yes, I will propose her for sure. Because then I will experience love in its quintessence and utmost depth.

If Jesus would propose to me, I think I would turn him down. It would be worse than marrying a celebrity because the whole world is watching your every move. And they would expect you to be larger than life as well, that you have to be as righteous as your man. People would really compare you, and they would even think that you are not deserving to be his spouse. I don't think I can live like that. Okay, this is just for discussion only.

No. Basically because I am a very jealous person, and the mere presence of his millions of followers will only make me feel insecure. I just want him to be mine. I do not want anything to go between us, and I just want him to find time for me. And having God as a father-in-law seems scary. I mean, the expectations are quite overwhelming.

Hi Roneyes, I would have to say no simply because I would never get to spend anytime with him as his followers would be too demanding of him, that would put a strain on the marriage immediately and as forgiving as my future father-in-law is, I don't think he would appreciate me as a daughter in law, I would be much happy having Jesus in my heart but not as a husband and God as a good friend and someone to confide in things I wouldn't confide in anyone else than a father-in-law. Ellie :D

Hi ronreyes, God is our father so that make Jeesus Christ our brother, don't you think? so I don't think it will be right to marry your brother in that sense beside if I were to marry Jesus Christ he will never be my own and he will never be home because he would have gone wandering with all his mates and hardly ever comes come home, look at his mother? when he was younger he was always away helping everbody else and came home when he was older and didn't even help her to do things and off he went only to get himself killed, the silly man an I would not want to be a young widow. I think Mary understands that. Since an angel appeared to her saying that she will bore the Son of God.

I would have to decline. Why? I am not in love with him. Be it the great man that he is or was, there is one man in this world who already has my heart, but it is not Jesus. There is only one man who can ever make me feel happy, and that is the man who is with me right now. I would never be with any other man, but my boyfriend.

I am someone who just wants to live a happy life, I want to explore and see the world for what it is and what it can be. I do not want to rule the world. What is the point in that? I don't need fancy clothes, diamond rings, or shiny objects. I just want to have do what I can and see what I can before I die.

literally speaking, no if I were His wife all abusers, liars, corrupt government and all that would face the worst horror they have never imagined and I would let them live while they are facing it you know they say, revenge belongs to God well if I were His wife, it would belong to me He can have all the glory, all I want is to be in charge of His army, command and strategy centers this would ruin His plan so I would refuse, save him from too much work later on if He keeps asking though, I may say yes ...

first off.. ANYone who would present to me a diamond... would be rejected. im not into wearing baubles that are the cause and catalyst for the slaughter of children, blood gems will never adorn me. but if he were to offer me another token of esteem and affections.. regardless of him sposedly being the son of god or not.. id hafta be in love with the man. and if i was.. nothing would stop me from saying yes.. not even the inlaws.

"Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain". Ron I am so sorry, but I believe your discussion is going too far. We know that Jesus could never marry because He is God. He is so holy to be involved in a non-sense discussion. Remember that we will be accountable to God for whatever vain words that come out of our mouth.

Thank you for your understanding Ms. Summersent. It takes wisdom to know what is right and what is wrong and from there do what is right. If we can't say anything sensible about Jesus then we should rather just keep Him out of any topic. I hope people who really believe in Jesus would realize how holy is the name of our Savior.
