I'm not going to give any opinion on this and the links I supplied are simply to enable you to read or see and hear what Governor Sarah Palin said way back in June of this year. In this speech which is seen on the video governor credits her electoral success to a preacher who claims to successfully hunt witches. http://groups.google.com/group/talk.politics.misc/browse_thread/thread/2ce91fe7d9e493b3 http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Palin_credits_electoral_success_to_witchhunter_0917.html Any comments, hopefully other than that I'm the one on a witch hunt...lol? I really hate those types of churches! I didn't know that Alaska was so involved with God's final days for the Earth. Interesting I guess Wright and this guy are pretty close together with their extreme views.

The difference between him and Wright is that we're not allowed to talk about him or connect him and his strange practices with St. Sarah...lol! (See below.) Annie

LOL Yeah I guess because this crazy preacher didn't say anything bad about old white men, can't imagine why a black man that was alive in the civil rights movement would not be happy with white old men. You and I both know that racism has never existed nor has there ever been some group that would promote killing blacks just because the color of their skin. lmao

We also know that if a preacher who happens to be black and happens to have said things against the old white men the fact that he served our country and fought in the military doesn't change the fact that he obviously hates America! Annie

As a pagan (which is recognized as a religion in this country) this REALLY concerns me. Someone ask her whether she agrees with her pastor's position of witch hunting please? I'd hate to think local covens or groves may suddenly find themselves in danger if Palin decides to take up Cheney's place in the "Dark Lord" status (remember, he likes that his nickname is darth vader and is shady enough to qualify fully for the nickname). Will I have to suddenly hide my pentacle? I'm not panicking, lol. I just want someone to ask her these questions. It matters, man. Freedom of religion and all that.

There's always going to be some who hate to deny others the same freedom which they are granted. It's just always chilling when we realize people in politics (people who have the power to put their biases to harm) hold these positions themselves. I know we're in the modern age and we're supposed to be past most of the discrimination of the past, but some things never fully die.

I really hate to say this but I'm afraid that for some of those on the right "freedom of religion" applies only to those who practice either the Christian or Jewish faiths. Someone who practices any other religion or no religion at all are not covered by this freedom. Annie

What a bogus and misleading title. This, of course, from the same woman who cried over and over again about how one's religion should not factor into the election. I guess that's only a valid argument when the spiritual mentor of your candidate is a racist who hates this country.

What title would YOU suggest I use? OK, don't tell me, this is totally irrelevant and shouldn't have been posted at all, right? Sorry, I'll continue being respectful to my fellow members as long as they do the same for me but I'm not going to tiptoe around every topic I decide to post about in fear that the title, the body or both meet with the disapproval of those of you from the right. By the way, I still maintain that one's religion shouldn't factor into the election but once someone is personally videotaped giving a campaign or otherwise political speech in a church and speaks about a pastor, that someone has made it open for discussion. What exactly is misleading about the title? He does claim to have successfully hunted witches. He did pray for Palin, and she feels he has a huge hand in helping her be elected. doesn't seem misleading to me.

Task you are such a hypocrite! There is no proof that Obama is a muslim but everyone is allover that. This crazy b*tch, wants to bring back the Salem witch trails and you are going to defend her! Theres solid proof she supports this man and his actions and you don't believe it. No prood Obama is a Muslim and thats totally ok! Not to mention he denounced Jerimah, I don't see Sarah doing that with this fool in fact she thinks he helped her by praying! Well I think someone needs to take the blinders off!

What this preacher believes as far as witches or anything else goes is irrelevant to him praying for Sarah Palin. Unless there was a poppet involved and someone waved an athame over her head.

Thank you for responding and for being respectful! That is always very much appreciated and I don't mean this to be in the least bit sarcastic. Annie

It's not entirely irrelevant because there is a video of him praying over her, and in it he mentions witches. I will find the link and post it for you.

Okay, this is a long video, but it is very valid for this discussion. Everyone needs to watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkViRp6W5oE

Yes, I saw the video of him praying over her, and my first reaction was, "So she used to be a witch?" I'm sorry, I just had to say it. Is no one else offended by this? Seriously.

Wow! I really can't believe what a backward a*s thinker this woman is. I also can't believe so many people like her. Honestly if she could she would bring back burning witches at the stake! So I guess the Wiccan followers are a dangerous hmm. Yeah people that respect and worship the elements are just horrible! I REALLY HATE HER!

I don't like her either and it's certainly not because I'm a sexist, because she has five kids or because she's an ultra-conservative. I may not vote for her for the latter reason but that sure wouldn't make me dislike her. However, our fellow myLotters on the right will tell me what I really feel and why, I'm sure. Annie
