Hi all mylotters, just kind of curious about this. Do you believe or is it true that when in the dark people tend to whisper? I have read a few days back that people do whisper in the dark. Is this true? As for you, have you noticed that? Or do you believe in that? I just have to ask, thanks!

This really makes me feel fool, but I do whisper in the dark. Worse, I tiptoe around, trying not to disturb anyone. Why that make me feel foolish? I do it when I'm home alone! There's not even a petdisturb!

Yeah, i do that too, without knowing the reason why. Do you think it is because being in the dark need us to be really careful as not to stumble on anything or we are not sure whatever lies there waiting for us? Is that the reason? Well, thank you for the response, appreciate it.

Well my friend first of all I believe that if you don't ask you never find out, I am very curious too, and I wish I had a good answer for your question but I also find this strange and this has happened to me, when I was out walking in the dark with a friend they would whisper to me, as though they didn't want to disturb anyone or anyTHING! I guess people associate the dark with demons, monsters and scary things so not wanting to make a noise to wake or disturb them.

Thanks for that, i was really curious to know why. Now, i am getting answers from you guys and i do appreciate it. Your answer is good, yeah, maybe this comes so natural for us to associate darkness with these creepy, scary, and evil "Things" that is why we do whisper in the dark. Or maybe, just maybe we don't want anyone to hear us or know what we are doing in the dark!!!!!

I think, it is so. Darkness has been associated with relaxation and bed time. It's the time when people are supposed to sleep and refrain from daily activities. It's the synonym of silence, slumber and dark things. Coming to dark, sinister part of darkness, most sinister activities are carried out at nights, when it's dark outside and no wonder people with evil intentions tend to whisper and keep it low. If we overlook this, I find myself talking softly just because it's so peaceful with less noise and commotion. And also, we are being careful about others who are asleep. It has gotten into us so intrinsically. Like when in a hospital or condolence meeting we talk softly, we whisper, we are much alert. May be, this has to do with our beliefs, customs and values. Great discussion that was!

I only wisper when I think the kids are still awake. I use to wisper and tiptoe around when they were babies, but now I don't think an earthquake could wake them up. lol

I think that is true, that goes for my daughter too. You can make all the noise you want, she will stay in bed and sleep all she want. Thank you the response!

i havent noticed but i could see it being correct if like people are trying to sneak around and not wake people by turning on lights and talking lightly
