Just recently I've been having problems with Windows Live Messenger. Every time that I try to add any kind of image this error pops up "The file you selected is not a valid image file. Please select another" and I don't know how to fix it and it's really bother me now. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to use different version but it doesn't matter what I try it doesn't work. It's will all files and even in the options it has image enabled. Can't save any smilies nor use any backgrounds. If someone can help, I'll appreciate it!

it might be the file format. images come with different extensions at the end such as.. .jpg .gif .png etc. I dont believe live takes png's. Also, it might have a problem reading it if the extension is in all caps such as .JPG

Well it doesn't really matter what kind of image it is, none will open. My computer actually doesn't even show the extensions and I don't know how to change that to small caps in that case. But thanks I appreciate your comments.

i found a post at one of my resource places, they said that the problem came around because of microsoft and their recent update. To solve the problem, download a previous version of live messenger and uninstall the update I will peak around some more and see if i can find other solutions that might have worked for peeps
