Are You A 'CRAZY' Pet Owner?

Lets face it, a lot of us who own pets can be a tad bit,...uh, shall we say, weird? Many of us celebrate our pet's birthday, maybe get a special treat for them...we might buy Christmas presents for them. We often allow them to snuggle up and sleep with us, even though it means that we wind up sleeping like a contortionist pretzel and often wake up with sore backs.
But here's another question I just HAVE to ask. WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET?
By that I mean...do you have pictures of your furbabies in your wallet? Do you suddenly realize you have more pictures of your pets in your wallet than maybe human family members?
If you were to look at my wallet, I not only have photos of my current two kitties, but I have some photos of past ones that are no longer here and are in Rainbow Bridge...I even have old photos of my past pet birds and my mouse Brandy
Okay...I know...I'm WEIRD

Hi,buddy!In fact,I like pets very much,especilly cats.But I don't have one now.I once had a lovely cat,I often sleep with her at night.But unluckily,it lost.I looked for it for a long time but failed.And I felt very sad at that time.Now I want to have one very much,but I have no time to take care of it.I wish to have one before long.

I think its normal. Now if you had kids, and their were no pictures of them in your wallet, but there were of your pets, then I'd think you were weird. I don't have any pictures of any of my pets, past or present, in my wallet. But I do have one on my fridge. And I've got a lot of them in a drawer that I've taken over the years. Just so I can pull them out when I want and remember how cute they were and are.

I am another crazy pet owner. I don't have a picture of my late dog in my wallet. But I do have pictures of it in my computer room.

I really don't have a wallet that I keep my pet photos..more like one of those credit card portfolio thingies...no credit cards..just photos of my kitties

i usually don't carry a wallet,but i have a purse i take if i have to..
but i don't have to carry a picture-there's usually a calico in it.come 'on..let mommy have purse..*bite bite bite*..ok you have it

Now that it's cooler my kitties are REALLY snuggling up next to their mommy and she's sleeping like a yoga pretzel..LOL. I used to have one cat that took over my handbag too...

Your discussion brought to mind a radio talk show that I listen to occasionally, pyewacket. It was the Allen Hunt Show and he did a show on this very topic last month. His view was that people have become too obsessed with their pets, and he invited callers to phone in and give their opinions. I have to say that the majority of the callers did side with him. There were plenty though who went into great detail about why they feel the way they do about their pets. One thing is for sure, your pet is not likely to hurt you the way people you come into contact often do.

I'm surprised that people sided with him...I would have thought there would have been more "nutcases" like me who would have called him up and defended their "obsessiveness".

pye why is that weird? I believe that are part of your family so why not have photos of them. Did you ever have children? You have never talked about being married or having children so why not having photos of your pets?

Nope I never mentioned about being married or having kids since I never married and never had kids....guess my kitties have been my kids.

If it was not for your kitties your wallet would be empty of photos so by all means carry those photos.

I love my cat and my dog dearly but I love my good night's sleep too. I do have pictures of my animals from the past and my current ones but in albums and not in my wallet. When I got a credit card through PetSmart I could have gotten my pet's picture on it but I didn't have a picture of my dog and cat together and I didn't want to get a card with just one of them on it so I just have one they offered with a dog and cat.

LOL--you mean you cat or dog would have gotten jealous if you got a credit card with just one of them on it? Heehee
I haven't done this with all of them..but one way I remember my past cats is to reuse those wooden plaque kind of things that you can hang up and placed pictures of my former cats..a nice tribute to them

Well I don't have any pictures of my animals in my wallet, but I do have pictures of them on my cell phone. I even use pics of them for my background on my phone. I love taking pictures of them with my cell phone.

I hear ya, I didn't have a camera phone till this past year, but I really love it, as I can take pictures at the drop of a hat. I also love having pics of everyone next to their name.

I do not even know when my little 'furbabies' were born but they get special treats everyday. I spend a small fortune on half and half because they love it so much and like to get a saucer or two full of it every day. I do not carry any photos at all in my wallet. Hell, I don't have much of anything in there these days!
Yes, they sleep with me. During the warmer weather only one of them does though. The other night I woke up scrunched in a tight ball because they were all snuggled up around me... I could hardly even move! I figure that is a sign I should start bringing my plants inside, hehehehe.

My two are cuddling up more on my bed too..LOL..and they are usually very quiet sedate kitties, yet since the weather is turning cooler it's like all of a sudden they are going berserk...I don't mind...just not at three in the morning where it might tick off the neighbors downstairs.

Yup my cats have always been indoor cats since I live in an apartment building...I would never dare let them out ...not in this neighborhood where my street is often turned into the Indy 500 with a-hole drivers who think they are Mario Andretti...I've seen too many swished to a pulp animals in the road.

Ah, I take it yours are indoor cats then? I rarely see my little babies when the weather is nice. They spend most of their time outdoors then. But yeah, I know what you mean about going berserk... during the winter when they are indoors all the time it can get a little ummm, noisy, what with their racing around all over the place. Fortunately I don't have neighbors downstairs to think I'm keeping elephants in my apartment! Hehehe.

Hi Pye you aren't weird cos I have more photos of my two dogs than I do of anyone else!! Why? I really don't know..maybe cos I'm divorced and my children are now grown up and my son is the only one who lives with me but my dogs are my family and babies..so if you are weird so am I!!..bb littleowl

I do keep pictures of my pets past and present but I don't keep them in my wallet. I keep them on the computer, on a bulletin board and in a drawer. One my biggest sorrows is that I accidentally (and permanently) erased all the pictures from the computer of my all time favorite pet, a little calico cat called Patches. Patches has passed on and I don't even have one photo of her but I can still close my eyes and see her. (She was the sister of Humphrey, my avatar cat)

That's a shame you lost the picture of Patches. All my photos of my kitties are on either slides or negatives..I can scan them and transform them into the digitized format so I do have a lot stored in my computer as well. My one regret is that while I do have some photos of one of my favorite cats, Twinkie, who is now in the Land of Bast, she never photographed well due to her dark coloring...but like you, I can still see her in my mind. (Still miss her too)

Well, I've got no photos in my wallet - nothing but plastic and very thin moths in there However, I have used a photo of My Cleo as my avatar picture, she passed over the rainbow bridge nearly four years ago now, and there are several more photos of my present lot on my profile.

aww..Cleo was a pretty gal..I saw your other pics...goodness how many kitties do you have...Felix, Poppy, Jet..saw the photo of the two kitties on your bed...my cats have taken over my bed as well especially now that I have a new one.

No, I am glad to say that I am not a crazy pet owner, maybe it is because I just don't have any pets, except fish. I think that instead of having pets it is better to have your own kids. They give you the same good emotions, but there is also much more use. Like, you can talk to the kids and you can understand them and hug them. So, no. I am not a crazy pet owner, thanks God.

YES! To all of the above. I carrying my dog Machito's photo. He has more clothes than me. I bought him a stroller. He has his own bank. He gets toys when He fills it. Its like hes my son. He is so cute though. How could I not treat him with love. I want him to know that he was specially chosen by me. I love him. I cant every think of life without him. dl

no your not crazy. if you are a lot of us are. you should see how many people have their pets a myspace with pics etc. on it. and many little pet friends. my coco has 1 or rather i have one for her. its coconutgir7 you can do a search, i dont want to mess up your post or id put a link.

I have websites for my kitties too..LOL. Even devoting a blog type thing,like a history of all my cats from the very first one. Couldn't find Coco at myspace...can you PM or email me?
