They always say that time gets shorter as you get older. That may be true except for election year. Yeah its about twice as long as every other year. Its also the year you stand a chance of losing lifelong friends and you watch your neighbors start to take pokes at each other. The local watering hole has different clientel and even the little Mom and Pop grocery store is feeling the pinch, all in the name of "Campaign Promises" Think back now~think hard~just how many of those campaign promises ever come to fuitation. Hello Alamode! I haven't heard from you in ages. Yes logic is a little scary this time of year isn't it? Good to hear from you. Hope all is well. Shalom~Adoniah

Yes, all is well, though our daughter and granddaughter left this morning for their new home in Hawaii. I'm feeling some 'empty nest' all over again. It was great having them here for the last couple of months, and we'll be visiting them often... but today is just too quiet! I shared all my crafting skills with Kaitlin, who's 11, and she absorbed it all like a sponge, so I had a great crafting buddy and I'll miss doing projects with her. I don't answer a lot, but I always read the postings of my friends here so I'm not too out of touch. Someday things will settle down, and I'll be back more regularly.I hope all is well with you and that your holidays will be happy. Take care, my friend, and thank you.

The sad thing is that a lot of people think the president has a lot more power than he really does. If things go well he is praised, if it goes bed he is blamed. but he has to work with almost 500 other people to get any thing done. Can you imagine getting 500 people to agree on any thing? Why don't people blame the congress and senate when things are tough? Why would any one want to be president?

It is difficult especially if the congress is one party and the President is another. However, as we have seen in the past a Pres. can do a lot of damage while in office and I am talking about the distant past not just the recent. Somehow the checks and balances do not always work. Thanks for your thoughts. Shalom~Adoniah
