What is your favorite possession?

I would say that my laptop is my favorite possession. I got it about one year ago and quickly learned to use it for the Internet and Email. I would never want to get another desk top computer because my laptop takes up much less space and is portable. I can use it in any room of my home, in my garden and outside my home too.
You favorite possession might be your camera, your television, a special piece of jewelery, item of furniture, your car or something else. Whatever it is I am asking about material possession so it can't be a person or an animal.
What is your favorite possession?
Why do you like it so much?

My favorite possession would have to be my SUV. I have a 98 Chevy Blazer. The Vortec V-6 gives it plenty of power without having a gas-drinking V-8, so it is fun to drive, and I can afford to do so. I also like the cargo area. I can keep my tools and other stuff back there without having to worry about them getting wet. I do miss having a regular pick-up truck sometimes, but the Blazer is dependable and functional, so I like it.
I would also have to say that my house is possibly my other favorite possession. My wife and I had to work hard for over five years to be able to afford it. It was almost like a reward for me when I finally earned my Associates degree a couple of years ago. The old place we lived in was somewhat run-down and poorly insulated, not to mention it was really SMALL. All we had room for was a love seat and a TV, and the bedrooms were barely big enough for a double bed. The room our daughter slept in wasn't even big enough for a double bed. I twin bed took up most of the room, with only enough room to basically walk in. It was more like a big walk-in closet than a bedroom. For a single person who worked a lot and didn't stay home much, or for a young couple with no kids, it would not have been a bad place at all I guess, but it was getting a little small for us. The bad part was that when my dad and step-mom came down to visit, they had to bring their camper with them, because our house was so small, we didn't have a place for them to sleep, even on the floor. It is nice to have an extra bedroom now, and have room to move around. I don't like the idea of the higher mortgage payments each month, but I surely don't want to go back to living in a place like our old house.

Interesting to read about your experiences with your homes. I've never got to buying my own home, due to other priorities. I rent a room in a really lovely, Victorian house, sharing the bathroom, kitchen, dining area and conservatory with everyone else. The room I have has got a double bed, and I would say there is enough room to fit in over 3 double beds! (not that there would be room for anything else then!). It is definitely not a 'typical' rented house. In fact the landlady bought it last Christmas, when it was a family house.
The other people here are all friendly - there was a really noisy tenant here before the summer in the room below; sometimes in the early hours too! Thankfully she moved out! :o)

I have a lot of favourite possessions, but my MOST favourite would have to be my dig. camera. My boyfriend bought it for me, because I somehow broke my old one. And I just love it so much. Last month, I started having some problems with it and I couldnt use it.. (I think I am technology cursed) and I almost had a heart attack. I am happy to say now that it is working fine and I am using it all the time. I love pictures but most of all, I love my dig. camera :D!

Your digital camera sounds excellent that your boyfriend bought for you. I know what you mean about the technology being challenging. It can confuse me too and it took me a while to learn about my current digital camera. It must have been upsetting when you had all the problems with your digital camera but it got sorted out fine for you. Sadly I have a black mark that comes out of most photos and I am thinking of buying new digital camera at the moment. Thanks for your excellent response.

My favorite possession is my Personal Digital Assistant because I have lots of information stored on it, appointments, friends telephone numbers, dates I have to remember. It keeps me organised. I can even browse the internet on it when I am out of home. © ronaldinu 2008

Wow! That sounds like a very handy and useful product. It seems to keep all the information that you need at your fingertips. I very much like to hear about ways to be as organized as possible. It is amazing that it even lets you browse the Internet.

I guess for me, my most treasured possession would be my 160GB iPod Classic that I have. I consider this as my favorite and most treasured possession because I actually bought this iPod using the money that I have earned for myself without depending on my parents (I am still a student, and still dependent on my parents for money to spend ). As people would say, you will cherish things that you have "suffered" to get compared to things that are provided, given or bought for you by others. As such, I try to keep my iPod in the best condition that I can, and I hope I can prolong its lifespan if I take care of it properly.....

I remember when I was a student and I saved up money from my part time job. Yes, it makes a purchase of an item even more special because of saving up rather than being given it as a present. Your 160GB iPod Classic sounds fantastic and I am sure you have lots of great music stored on it. I am glad that you try to keep your iPod is good condition to prolong its lifespan as long as possible. Good luck.

My favorite possession is my house! I love my house, and am trying to do everything to save it! I haven't done anything special to to it yet, gotta get my finances back up, but yes my house is the most precious material possession I have!

My favorite material possession is my cheap computer that my daughter bought for me when mine cratered on me. It enables me to make extra money to help out on my widow's benefit check. I also chat with a few friends and otherwise I would I would not be able to call so that means a lot as they are far away from.

My favourite possession is a very simple one. Two Christmases ago, my very close male friend was a little lacking in funds... so much so, in fact, that he couldn't really afford to buy his kids and grandkids very much for Christmas. Unfortunately, I wasn't in a position to help him out at that time, but I did buy him some bits and pieces for his N-Gauge train set, which he was over the moon about. Anyway, he felt he wanted to gift me with something and went out and bought a set of "soul" CDs, but then, thinking this wasn't really as much as he'd like to give, he took a CD from his personal collection, which was one of his favourites relating to the story of Glastonbury and Abbot Whiting, and added that, with a little note, which I still also have.
At first, I felt bad that he had taken it from his personal collection, offered to copy it to my comp and let him have the disc back... it's awesome, by the way... I just love it! However, he said that I was to accept it with the grace in which it was given, because he wanted me to have it. Awwwwwww... that became my most prized possession and apart from the runes he made and gave to me, it will always be.
Brightest Blessings, my friend. I know you know the tale of Glastonbury and Abbot Whiting!

I would either say my laptop too because of pretty much the same reasons or my camera because it goes everywhere with me!! I take so many pictures and really the two go together as after taking them I love sitting down with my laptop uploading them and looking at the pictures I have taken!!

I don't have a favourite possession as such. The crystals I have are my favourite possessions in the plural. What is true, is that I tend to focus on a few at a time. The favourite one of the moment is a mahogany obsidian, which can be useful "...to move out of scarcity-mindedness and into abundance..." - wow! This is from The Book of Stones - who they are and what they teach. Written by: Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian.
Crystals in general are fav, because I love their spiritual qualities and they are generally very beautiful to have around.
As for people and animals, they can never be our possessions. They are their own being and live for their own purpose. To call an animal a pet is not really correct. They are more a companion to us!
All the best. :~) :~)

my favourite possession is my tag hauers watch model 2000 series and this is already no longer for sales in market so it is now a rare collection. i got it in 1990 and now i think it is worth a few times it price now. the design is better than the current 2000 series and it is still in good condition. i only wear them for dinners and functions.i intend to pass it on to my son when he grows up...
