hi mylotter! i do this since i love to draw and paint alot. hahaha! at first i thought my father will scold me for drawing something on the walls of my room on our former house but it turned the other way around. he was impressed with what i did. hahaha. and when he saw other plain spots in my room, he would tell me "draw some in this part and on this part. oh that part." haha! when my dad bought us another house in which we currently live in, i have started painting my name on the walls of my room. have you done anything like this in your room? happy posting and happy mylotting!

I think it is good to let your children be creative. So I say good for your father. We are currently working on fixing up a nursery for my sons arrival in December. Once the walls have fresh paint(and it is dry)we have a neat idea. We are going to have our daughter and nieces and nephews dip their hands in paint. Then leave their print on the wall under his name.

I never draw or paint anything on the walls of my bedroom as I am not good in arts. Lol. Now I don't even have a chance to do so because I am renting a room. But it sounds really interesting and creative for being able to express your creativity and thoughts on the wall of your bedroom. Lol. But I think I prefer to decorate my bedroom with decorative stuffs rather than painting. Have a nice day!

When I was a kid I used to draw a lot of things in our wall. And my mom told me that it is not the right way. I should use papers, what is the purpose of buying me papers if I would just draw in our wall. I have no talent in painting nor drawing. I have painted my room but just plain paint. I painted my room apple green, because green is my favorite. I also want to paint my room some deisgns but I don't have any talents. Good Day!

Hi skbh12.. When I was a child, I always wanted to draw or paste some stickers on my walls. Unfortunately my parents wouldnt allow it. Its a customary I think in the Philippines that drawings or stickers on the walls arent nice to look at and would just make the walls dirty. Me and my man talked bout it, whenever we will have children we will allow it and shouldnt be hinder such creativity of the children. This would make their talents show or develop. We were discussing that we might make a toy room where our children could play, paint and do things that children love to do.

you really have a cool dad. i remember when me and my siblings were still young, we keep drawing some human sticks on our wall. it made our parents mad but in the end they just didnt mind it anymore. til now we can still see our drawings on the wall and we all laugh about it

You might be amused to hear that I used to do this when I was just 4 years of age.I used to draw on every wall of the house and I was very good in drawing.I too was very afraid that my Father would scold me.Instead he told me not to draw on the walls but suggested that I do so on paper.Like yours my Father was also very impressed with my drawings.Ofcourse I did draw on paper after that but I continued to draw on the walls.I was addicted to doing this,do you understand???

I haven't, but my sister used to do this. She is an artist. Growing up, she used to draw all over everything. She would literally leave a paper trail behind her everywhere she went. You could always tell where she had been by the little scraps of paper with doodles on them that she would leave behind. She also drew and painted on her furniture and walls.

Well I only did it like 3 or 4 times in my life with some help... at least last time it took us around 12 hrs to finish just a room cause we need to move out all my stuff then place tape on the edges and papers on the floor... at least on the end the result was good :) a blue/red walled room :)

I had an appartment one time I asked my landlord if I could put some Cartoon characters on my living room wall. She said no problem. So I did! They were beautifal! When I was done my landlord came down to take a look! She said it was really nice! She even asked me to do some on her walls in her kids bedroom! A few months later I moved out! I went to get my dammage deposite back she told me NO! I asked her why she said that she didnt realize that I had painted the characters on the wall! She thought they were peel and stick! So she said she was keeping my whole 300 damage deposite to paint a wall!!! What a BXXXX. So needless to say i havent painted any characters on walls since! My painting is now just on canvas!!

hi mamalovestoread! really?? that was so rude of her not to give you back the deposit just because you painted something on the wall. i bet it wasn't bad looking what you have painted on that wall. who would ever want to put stickers on walls right? the more it will do damage on it.. at least this hasn't stopped you from painting even though now they are on the canvass. maybe one day you will do paint the walls of your room again.. happy posting and happy mylotting!

You are very creative. I used to draw on the walls when I was young, much to my Mothers dislike. She hated it. You are lucky to have a great Father, who actually allowed this to happen. I do not think I would let my children draw on my bedroom walls either. I would get them big sheets of paper if they loved drawing because I would have to paint all the walls if I wanted to sell my house.

Since young i've learned not to make a mess of anything. If the walla were stained my parents would freak. Even now they are still very strict. I think it's best not to hang anything on the walls either.

Hi friend, i have never draw and paint on walls of my room simple because i am not good in drawing. I guess drawing is a talent a person is born with and its difficult to learn drawing with not much drawing talent. If i draw and paint on my walls, i think my parents will kill me for destroying the painting of my room! enjoy lotting!

What directly came to my mind is the vandalisms of my nephews an nieces on our walls. Others really said there is something good about it. They are just expressions of childrens creativity. But it really pisses me off most of the time. In your case, i think you draw and paint quite good that your father is even encouraging you for more. Go got really talent for that. Congratulations. Go for it.
