What are your thoughts on being forced to do things at work?

At my current job we have to take showers before lunch and at the end of the day when we work in certain buildings. To make things even worse is that we have to take our coveralls off each time we go to the break room. There has been a lot of heated discussion between employees about this. There is only 6 showers for men and 6 for women. More than 20 people would have to shower and there is only 30 minute for all of us to do this. Some of the concerns that some have are with the cleanliness of the showers. We have to provide our on soap/shampoo or use liquid hand soap. What makes me upset most is that they haven't sent out a memorandom stating all the reason we have to take showers. I feel personally that this is a bit on the invasion of my privacy. It's bad enough to have had to listen to your mother telling you to take a bath/shower but to now hear it at work. To show that they are serious about taking showers they gave one of the supervisors 3 days off without pay, because one of his workers didn't shower. Of course that person was punished also. There has been talk about how it can cost your job. Take a guess at what type of business this could be. Have you ever had something that you didn't think was right that you had to do at your work place? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

This is somehow disturbing. Anything that's forced is really not good. If I'm in the situation, I probably can't work well. I certainly can't be at my best. And with that, the output of our work won't be as efficient as it should be. We all deserve even a bit of freedom at work.
