We are having Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, crescent rolls, mashed potatoes, corn and green beans. Pumpkin pie and Chocolate pie for desert homemade of couse. I worked this meal into our food budget this month of course it will be left overs for 2-3 days lol.

Hi sweet! Well my boyfriend and I just did the shopping for our Thanksgiving meal yesterday! I got a 20 pound turkey! I don't even know if we are having any company except my next door neighbor! We are having regular stuffing and cornbread stuffing, candied yams, corn, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, biscuits, cranberry sauce and homemade gravy. For dessert we will have either pumpkin or sweet potatoe pie. I'm not sure yet. I don't bake pies anymore so we will be buying that. His birthday is 3 days before Thanksgiving so I will be baking him a cake so we will have leftover birthday cake too and ice cream and whipped cream. Oh and of course some nice hot apple cider!

Sounds good! We live in a resort community and will probably take advantage of one of the holiday specials at a local buffet. When we moved here, the many lovely affordable restaurants was a key factor in our choice of this home, but being somewhat recently retired it has been fun to buy nice things for the kitchen and get it set up and do some cooking, so we really haven't eaten out as much as we thought we might. Holidays such as Thanksgiving are a great time to catch up on that.

Turkey Mashed potatos & gravy (maybe some slaw) green beans corn honey glazed carrots brown 'n serve rolls and some sort of pumpkin dessert...probably pumpkin fudge This is what we usually do. Well, actually, we usually can't afford to make pumpkin fudge (OMG how I've missed it, I haven't had it since I was little!). And I created my own recipe for honey glazed carrots. But slaw's a family dish, and a big thing in my state, and the rest is a pretty standard thanksgiving dinner I think. We've had some of the stuff for awhile, (canned veggies/frozen) and some of the stuff we got recently. Like one of the pumpkins was from halloween and we chopped it up so that we can use it to make the fudge, and the fresh veggies, yogurt for the slaw, and rolls we mostly got recently (sortof standard stuff). And Dad was given a turkey by his work. So here we are, heh. We should have leftovers into the following monday from Thanksgiving day lol. It's just the four of us and our cats that we're cooking up this feast for.

Well, in Canada we had our Thanksgiving already. It is always the second Sunday in October. I read all your respondents posts and found that the meals for this special day are very similar. We had turkey, stuffing, tiny roasted potatoes, mushroom gravy, creamed squash, peas and carrots and ham. For desert we had pumpkin pie, cherry pie and apple pie. There were 12 of us and each family brought one of the items, so the hostess was only responsible to heat all the dishes up set the table and provide one of the veggies. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!

I have thinking about this. I just picked up stuffing to make today at the grocery store. I have can of pumpkin to either make apie or a dump cake of pumpkin. I plan on making the apples in the fridge in to apple crisp. I also plan on having a turkey, mashed poatoes and home made gravy, rolls and green beean cassarole. Oh and I am making deviled eggs. Not sure what else yet.

We always get together at my brother's house. I am in charge of the cooked whole berry cranberry sauce. I will also definitely make a lemon meringue pie or two. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, turkey, ham, stuffing. Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, always at least one green bean casserole and one broccoli cheese casserole. Olives. I think I have named all of the favorites. We are talking about twenty to thirty people, probably.

Your Thanksgiving menu sounds so like our Christmas menu, but we'd have roast potatoes and parsnips too. Oh, and of course Christmas pudding instead of Pumpkin pie. So if you guys eat turkey and cranberry at Thanksgiving, what do you eat at Christmas?

Ok we have 2 Thanksgiving Dinners to attend. At my mom's house there will be 6 adults and 4 kids. We will have turkey, ham, mashed potatoes/gravy, stuffing, green beans, turnip salad, collards, rutabagas, cranberry sauce, corn, sweet potato casserole, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie and various other desserts. We really go all out and always have several different types of foods! At my fiance's house we always arrive there later in the evening and normally drink coffee and have desserts and fix plates to take back with us home. I love left over turkey and cranberry sauce!

I am so thankful for this day. I eat all day until I am about to bust and i am sure that so other people do the same. This year our menu will consist of chicken, turkey, barbque ribs, macaroni, dinner rolls, yams, cakes; chocolate, strawberry, lemon and chocolate swirl and coconut, sweet potatoe pies, greens, lima beans, salad, corn, drinks, dressing, cranberry sauce, potatoe salad, frozen mixed drinks, and ham. The whole thought of all of this delicious food is making me hungry. I can not wait until this day. Of coarse left overs will be good... do not worry, I do not know of one person that does not want them... I know I do.
