My mom and aunts used to make the most delicious divinity during the holidays when I was younger. It would just melt in your mouth, it was so smooth and rich. They have all passed away now, and no one has the recipe. I am hoping my myLot friends will have a great, easy (I hope), recipe for Divinity. Anyone?

Divinity is white and made with egg whites and karo syrup...not sure of the other ingredients. It is very smooth and usually shaped like a hershey kiss (only a bit larger) or a dollop of whipped cream. That's the best I can describe it. I sure hope someone has a recipe on here. Thanks for the reply.

DIVINITY FUDGE
1/2 c. light corn syrup 1/2 c. water 2 egg whites 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans or walnuts
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan. Cook, stirring until sugar dissolves. Then cook over low heat, without stirring, to hard ball stage (265 degrees - or until makes a long hair-like strand). Put whites and salt in large bowl; beat on high speed until stiff (about 2 1/2 minutes). Slowly pour hot syrup into egg whites while continuing to beat until mixture thickens. Add vanilla and chopped nuts; beat until mixture will hold its shape. Drop from a teaspoon onto waxed paper.

Thanks for looking that up meme. It seems to me the one they used had more like 6 eggs. I could try tripling this one and see if it is the same. It sounds about right. May have to give it a try when the humidity goes down a bit. Thanks again and huggers.

I don't even know what divinity is, but from what you describe, it sure sounds good. Too bad no one left the recipe. I made a cookbok, and published it, of all of my family's old Danish recipes, so that I would not have the same problem that you are hhaving right now.

That was very wise of you. Divinity is white and very smooth; it is usually shaped like a dollop of whipped cream or a hershey kiss. Is the cookbook for sale? I'd love to publish a family cookbook one of these days.
