I am.I am going through a divorce so I call it the single diet.Which is funny because Ive noticed I always lose weight when I am single.Ive learned a lot for what works for me and basically it is about exercise and eating better. Its that simple.Walking, swimming, and weights.Im also doing some exercise videos. And I eat around 4 small healthy meals a day.Running after my toddler helps too.lol.I read the book winning by losing by Jillian Miacheals and thats been very helpful too.

I called mine the divorce diet, lol. It worked great. I put back on the weight after I remarried though...about 3 years ago. Now I really have to take it off. I love Jillian. I am a huge fan of "The Biggest Loser". How was the book?

The best thing for me until now is that I don't really need to watch diet specially. But one thing is that it is always good to make sure that I am eating healthy. So, I try to eat more veggies and fruits as much as I can, though I like to eat junk food a lot. Surely I am going to make it a point in the new year that I going to stick with healthy food.

I don't do any kind of resolutions for new years, never have, don't want to be bothered at this late date. The roomie is going to have gastic bypass surgery after the first of the year (no date set yet) and I'll probably have to behave after that.

My insurance doesn't cover it either. Sorry to hear yours doesn't as well.

I don't make resolutions either, I do set goals though and make them realistic, so that I don't fail. I wish your roomie luck with the bypass. I hear they really are a great way to help lose the weight. Thanks for the response.

If you are already at your desired weight, you are right eating well and exercising are all you need to do to maintain that weight. However, if you are overweight, you need to do more to lose the weight. Thanks for your response.

It should not matter if you are over weight in the respect that a balanced diet and exercise should still get you weight off as well, maybe a bit more effort with excercise and it will be tiring but keep at it.Take care.xx

I would like to start on a healthy diet which will bring my weight down and also keep healthy. I am a physically challenged person so I cannot do much of exercise so only diet should slim me down. Low carb diet, protein and fiber diet is best to reduce weight.

You are right, about the low carbs and fiber. But I don't add that much more protein to my diet. I try to follow the food pyramid. I wish you the best of luck on your diet and eating healthy. Thanks for the response.

I am starting NOW, I'm going to get ahead of the holiday feast. My blood sugar came back high so I'm on a rant to fix it. Happy Holiday to you.

Yeah, you must get your blood sugar back in line. That is crucial. I don't blame you for starting now. I hope you can get it back in control soon. Merry Christmas, my friend.

One of my resolutions for next year is to lose 20 lbs. Of course, that's been one of my resolutions for the last 15 years! LOL. South Beach works well for me but I have a difficult time keeping weight off because ultimately, I go back to eating carbs. This year, I'm going to go on Bob Greene's Best Life Diet. Oprah is highlighting this diet the week fo 1/5 and I think that she's going to go on it. I've already bought the book and the journal and I think that I will join the online program for even more accountability. I already have a regular exercise program but I'm going to try to step it up. I currently do weight training exercises twice a week and I fit in 40 minutes of cardio at least 4 times a week. The thing that I like about the Bob Greene exercise piece of the program is that you assess the level that you're at today and gradually increase until you get to the next level. I hope to increase weight training to 3 times a week and get my cardio up to 60 minutes a day 6 days a week. Good luck to you.

Wow, sounds like you have a great plan in place. I am still working on my plan of attack. I need to lose 45 pounds...at least that is my goal. I know I can do it if I can just stick with it. I wish you the best of luck. You can do it.
