I made Christmas ornaments this year

Pine Cone Christmas trees - These are the Christmas decorations I made for my sister in laws. Each is unique and hand crafted from pine cones I gathered earlier in the year. I hope they'll enjoy them for many years to come.

This year things have been so tight that I haven't been able to do much Christmas shopping so I decided to make a few gifts instead. I always hesitate to give Christmas ornaments as gifts since I know they get packed away almost immediately for another year but figured it would be better than no gifts at all for my sister in laws. I know they treasure hand made gifts like these so I know they will be appreciated for many years to come. Did you make any gifts this year?

I did not make anything this year. It seems to have crept up on me. I bought some things this summer, and right now my income is on an upswing. I have to be finished with part of the stuff by Friday, though, as my daughter and family will be here and will leave before Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing what you made.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment on the pic I attached. Hope you got everything done before your family gets there and that you'll have an enjoyable visit.

Yes, that's the important part. A family being together for the holidays is always nice, no matter the hardships.

We made ornaments too. I figured it was good for the adults.

Not this year, but I have in the past. I did, however, make two cross-stitch stockings for a friend to give to her nephews.

Awww how sweet. I know the stockings you've made in the past have turned out lovely so I'm sure they'll be used and treasured for many years to come.

Things like those are always so nice, and I really like the creativity you've put into the Pinecone Tree ornament's. Very nice!

Thank You! Sometimes it takes me awhile to actually do the projects like this but if I think about it for a while I can usually turn the finished product into something very close to my mental picture. I was pretty happy with these and think they turned out as nice as the pine cone magnets I made several years ago. It's always nice to see them on the recipients refrigerator when we visit at Christmas.

No I have not ,except for my best friend I made her a fruit cake to ice and she is thrilled, been to ill to do any real christmas shopping but everybody has something as times are getting tighter in England. My daughter in law has had her hours cut, rather than one person lose their job they have all opted to cut hours instead to save the girls job.My son was going to be laid off by the council ,he empties the dust bins ,but he has managed to get a new job driving for a supermarket,my other son in law works taking machinery out of factories and installing new machines but that is drying up so my daughter is doing extra days at her job and i am helping look after the kids in the mean time,my husband drives for a supermarket and he has been there ten years so he will be safe we hope, take care, merry christmas, suzzyxxx

Jobs are getting harder to find, that's for sure, so I'm glad to hear that your family is still working. It always helps when everyone pulls together to make things work. Hope you'll be feeling better soon and that you'll have an enjoyable Christmas too.
