Insomnia

I have been having an incredibly hard time falling asleep lately. Last night I slept from 1am til 3:45am and I just couldn't fall back asleep. I had to get ready for work at 7am and today all day I just felt terrible. Have you ever suffered from insomnia? Do you have any remedies or suggestions aside from over the counter medicine?

I have that problem sometimes too. This works for me but it may not for you. Cut back on caffeine after about 4 p.m. Try not to have any tea, soda, etc. Don't take naps during the day (if you do). You could also try drinking milk about a half hour before you lay down. Other than that, the only thing I can tell is to talk to your doctor about ambien or something like that.

I'll try the milk thing. Another problem too is probably my work schedule. I work 2 jobs and the hours are varied all over the place but a typical day is 9-1pm, then a break and 4-10:30pm. It's pretty hard to fall right asleep when you get home at 11pm and get enough sleep to be up and at 'em by 9am. I didn't want to get a prescription or anything for the issue...I just don't like the idea of that. I want to investigate some herbal teas to see if there is anything I can use. Thanks for your response!
