seeing that the "I Love Lucy" TV marathon was recently on, many people here were talking about how much they love Lucy and even though I am a big fan of Lucy I also love "Carol Burnett" too, so if you had to choose between Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett which one gets your vote as the funniest lady?

I think Carol Burnett is the funnier of the two. Lucy had good writers on the show therefore she was able to be funny on the program. Have seen her on talk shows many years ago and she wasn't all that funny. Carol Burnett, on the other hand, is funny all the time. Happen to see her once when we were visiting Los Angeles. We were in a hotel lobby checking out and she was also in line, stepped back and almost stepped on my toe. She made no comment and neither did I.

Tim Conway was an added perk to the Carol Burnett Show. He was absolutely hysterical.

Oh my that is hard. But I do love Carol Burnett as she didn't get on my nerves after awhile as Lucy did. Same old stuff. I had to watch the Lucy show with my Grandma and she always said I can't deside between her and Carol. I just wanted the TV to blow up somenights. Have a great night. Your friend onlydia

Oh, Carol Burnett, hands down. I can't stand Lucy's feigned stupidity and childish "waaah-ing".

Wasn't the Carol Burnett Show the best! I wish they would do another reunion, she still can pull it off, now that's talent.

I was pretty young when these programs were on tele and I remember Carol Burnett far more than I remember Lucy so I guess that says it all. I can still remember vividly that cartoon image of Carol scatching its butt and winding the curtains. That still makes me laugh.

I loved her show, she would always make me laugh especially when she lost control and laughed herself during her performances.

hello howard wow! that is a tough decision to make. i used to watch the I Love Lucy television shows as well as the Carol Burnett shows. hum, i think that i would have to pick Carol Burnett over Lucy as being the funniest. Lucy was pretty funny thou on some of her shows, but i have laughed my butt off at Carol Burnett. her and Tim Conway. lol thanks for the memories of Carol Burnett. take care and have a beautiful day today!

As much as I love Lucy I also think Carol Burnett gets my vote, I loved when they lost control and started laughing, what a show that was.

I love them both, but I would have to vote for Lucy-- the facial expressions, the comic timing. No matter how many times I see those re-runs, they still make me laugh.

well they came out of a different time period, with a different kind of humour, so it really is hard for me to choose because I love them both equally

Personally, I used to like My little Marjie, which just shows how old that I am. If I had to choose between Lucy and Carol I would definitely choose Lucy.

It would have to be Lucy. I don't remember Carol Burnett much but Lucy is still on tv to keep reminding me just how much I love her humor.

I really couldn't decide which would be my favorite...in my mind both Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett were one in a million funny ladies of all time...who can forget the candy factory episode of I Love Lucy??...or where she got sloshed on that vegetable tonic? Who can forget Burnett's spoof of Gone With The Wind? Or that famous Tarzan yell?

Although I believe both women are talented actresses and comedians, my favorite of the two is Lucille Ball. I love the hijinx she and Ethel always get into. In the I Love Lucy Show, Lucille Ball has the innocence of a child. I love her facial expressions on the show, which always is an indication that she is up to something. I have loved the show since I was a child, and she has always been at the top of my list of favorite actressess.

This is a tough questuion. They are both pretty funny. I remember watching Carol Burnett a lot when I was a kid and I love Lucy they are but pretty funny. Proberly Lucy would be the winner since she has been out the longest. they both run pretty close.

Hey howard! That would really be a tough choice! I think that they are both wonderful and very funny ladies! But, they both came from different eras and I don't think that I could pick for that reason. Lucy was from the 50's and that was a whole different time and generation. Carol Burnett's comedy was from a different generation and alot after Lucy! Lucy was an unbeliveable comic. There is no one that could be compared to her! Not even Carol Burnett! I honestly love them both, so I am afraid that I just can't compare them and pick! Sorry!

Well ok but I think Lucy gets a vote here. I agree they have brought us all so much happiness with their wit!
