Well after all, the Grand Canyon (South Rim) is about 7,000 feet in elevation at the top. We went there on 12/28 because my oldest wanted to see it. Her little brother was really only interested in the snow. Here is my favorite picture from the trip. It was a gorgeous day, clear for miles and miles and miles! PS I think I need a tripod lol Ok I have figured out why my photos keep disappearing, hooray!

My inlaws went to the Grand Canyon 2 years ago. They were really disappointed because it snowed the whole way from Las Vegas (they were with friends they picked up there) and when they got to the Grand Canyon, it was foggy and they couldn't see a thing. I have never seen it! I have been in every state except Alaska and for some reason, we never saw the Grand Canyon. I would love to go! How lucky you are! What a nice picture! Snow? We have got quite a bit o f it here in Tahoe the last 2 weeks.

We drove over Donner pass on the way home and the kids made a snowman, so I'm sure there's lots of it at Tahoe!

Oh yeah, there is. I'm ready for warm weather already. I'm also wondering how my newly planted grass (July) is holding up!

Lug a tripod around at 7000ft and you'll know about it! Consider a monopod!! Great holiday, nice memories.

Elevation doesn't bother me but if I got one, it would be a very small one!

I know what your saying lol. I spent the week in Nevada and California and let me tell you it was dang cold. During the day it would get up into the 70's and even the 80's to go crashing down below freezing during the night. I have visited Nevada and California many times never needing to have a winter coat and this trip was the first time that I needed to have my winter coat with me. I was very thankful I had it to wear, not to mention I don't think the casino's have heaters. LOL. So here I was sitting in the casino at the black jack table wearing a winter coat. Never have I been so happy to get up and go back to my room where believe it or not they do have heaters. Any way Happy New Year and Happy My Lotting.

We were in Nevada and Arizona mostly and it was definitely cold. But at least it was nice and clear most of the time. Happy New Year to you too!
