This is the situation at my job. I work the night shift at the Post Office. There are refrigerators on every floor in all the break rooms. For the last week or so, I have left my yogurt in one of those slide out compartment drawers that sit on the bottom of the fridge. Like the ones in a normal sized fridge that are used for meats and fruit. Anyway, I usually have one for a snack before lunch, or after lunch when I go on my 2nd break. Something instead of all that junk inside the vending machines. Last night after lunch, I had some fruit punch left over, so I went to put it in the fridge with my yogurt. when I pulled the drawer out, I noticed there was another bag there. No problem, I figured someone had just placed their food on top of mines. I lift up the bag, and my bag of yogurt wasn't there. I looked and noticed that who ever this person was, moved my bag and placed shoved it inbetween everyone elses food that was in the refrigerator. I'm guessing that maybe that person was fed up that I had my stuff their for so long. But either way no one has the right to touch or move someones food. That person could have put their food somewhere else. I didn't leave my yogurt in the mini compartment thinking I owned that space. I just hadn't gotten around to eating it. Their have been people at my job who have had their food eaten by other people before. My friend had a bowl of sliced oranges, and someone ate a few of them and put the bowl back. That is just disrespectful. I took my stiff out of the fridge. I also took the other persons stuff and threw it up top in the freezer. I left a note for them in the small drawer where their food was saying "Keep your hands off of other peoples food!!" Hopefully when they go to get their fruit bowls, that's what it was, they will think that someone threw their food away. And believe me I was tempted to do so. Has anyone at your job or anywhere else ever touched your personal belongings? What did you do?

This has never happened to me, but to my co-workers. We were transferred to a new facility last year and one of our problems when we set in was the lack of food or shops since the facility was still being developed. There was a concessionaire who brought in food/lunch packs, but these were limited so you had to buy one early. We work in a call center, so bringing your food to your station was against the house rules so we left our food in the pantry. The lunch packs would already have names of the people who ordered them, but come lunchtime, their food would be gone. It has been a source of stress to my co-workers and what we would do is we would share what we have to the hapless victim. The mystery of the missing food was never solved but it has stopped now that there are shops that are open in the compound already.

Every job should have a fridge and microwaves for employees to bring their own food. At least that what it sounds like your job was lacking if I'm not mistaken. But anyway, I find it so disrespectful for someone to put their hands on other peopls food, or any other belongings that aren't theirs. The thing about my job, is that people will go into the fridge, open up another persons container, put their hands on their food and put it back! That situation with my friends oranges, I didn't get into detail. She had a sliced up orange in a bowl. Someone took a few slices from the bottom and poked a few wholes through each slice, leaving a triangular shaped whole in each slice. And they put them back. I always said if someone touches my food I'm gonna unplug and flip the whole fridge over! But of courese I can't do that or I would be fired. It makes me wanna request that they put a camera in the break rooms. I can't believe that people can be so nasty and disrespectful.

its really upsetting me too. as like you, i also use refrigerator in my office to keep some water in bottle to be cool and used it when i need it. but in one day, my cold water in bottle just empty and i didn't have any idea who was the person whom took it. then i put my name in my bottle and after that i still have my cold water in bottle untouched again. its anoying situation and i should realize that its public refrigerator and we have many people with different character who use the refrigerator. its nice to know that in the end you have solution for your case

Not recently but I'm sure I've had that happen to me before. Some people always think they come first and other people's needs are secondary. i try to be considerate of people especially if I have to work with them but it doesnt always seem to be the case that other people are considerate of you.
