The file has been claimed through the other persons Insurance company. The last time I got a tiny ugly Red Toyota as a rental. This time I talked with the manager and requested a similiar car to mine as I need it for my dad whom is 225 pounds and could not get in and out of the Toyota if needed. So I have an appointm, ent at 2 p.m. today to get the rental and drop mine off for repairs. Hopefully this repair will be done in a few days time. Have you ever really missed your vehicle as it was in the shop fopr body repairs? Ever have a rental during those repaiors? Satisfied with the rental as well? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I always enjoyed a rental car on the first day but quickly missed my own! They are never the same, I always have to look for everything, can't adjust anything by touch and they're just not comfortable! I'm glad you can get a larger rental so your dad can go with you if he wants.

You had another accident? Don't make a habit out of it, lol! I never had a rental to use when my car was being repaired. A friend of mine got to drive a brand-new car of the same kind as her old one to 'test-drive' so to speak, because hers was totaled in the accident and they assumed she would buy a new one from them. My dad sometimes got to drive a new vehicle, too, if he needed a lengthy repair on his car. I think you have the right to get a vehicle of the same size, not one much smaller, if your car was in an accident. Now, drive careful and don't get into more accidents!;)

Yeah I did. The car was parked at my daughters on the street and a woman backed out of a driveway and hit the drivers door and fender as well. Oh well things happen and they can and will be repaired. Thanks also. I would never buy a remntal or a lease car as they are usually driven pretty hard/rough prior. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

No, it was just to test-drive to see if she liked the new version of the vehicle. They would have ordered her a new one. In fact she did buy that type of vehicle from the insurance money, but from another dealer in her hometown. Her parents loaned her the difference and wanted to go through their own dealership... Still, hope you get a luxury vehicle this time.

I do hope you get a decent rental AGB and that the repairs are down well and quickly . Glad that the claim is going through thte other parties insurance and won't affect your insurance payments etc. Haven't had a courtesy car for a long time but I have to admit any time I did in the past it was usually better than my car! LOL xxx

Bob, When we were on vacation last Summer our van broke down. We had to get a rental for a few days, OMG, I wanted to keep the rental. It was a much nicer van than ours, more comfortable, more gadgets, I was in love, but then reason kicked in, I knew they could find me, and wouldn't take one of the kids for a trade in, LOL. Blessings Marilyn

Bwahahahaaha - SO funny if that little ol' red Toyota came right back at ya, GB! Just when you thought it was safe to get back on the freeway ... Good luck with getting something different this time - and remember to talk nice to it!

Rental cars are always cheap and basic. I have rental cars usually when renting for vacation driving, all of them are the same and expensive.

Being as I am my fathers caregiver, I need a rental that is fairly big in size for him to get into if I need to rush him to the Dr or hospital. So the Toyota I had last time is not right for me. That's why I requested a larger vehicle as dad is 6 foot tall and weighs 220 pounds. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

A railroad worker backed into my car and totaled it. He was driving a great big work truck and backed into the side of the car. Yes the railroad did get me a rental car. I did not like it as much as I like mine but it was the same size or even a little bigger than mine. It had a great stereo in it but what a pain to have to deal with the Santa Fe Rail road.

Glad to hear that you will be getting a bigger car this time, or at least hopefully you will. This repair job shouldn't take as long as the last one. Have a good day.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Yes, I do miss our car when it is in the repair shop and sometimes if the repairs can be postponed or delayed for awhile, i will delay it. haha..well, of course if it is just a minor one. We do not often go to car rentals since it is really expensive to do so. the only time that we do have car rental services here is when we have to travel on a long journey and that we are bringing my father and the children with us. Take care and blessings to you! lovelots..faith
