Opinions on alcohol laws?

What are your opinions on U.S.'s no-distribution-to-minors alcohol law? Do you think it's actually useful in preventing underage drinking or if it really only serves as a mostly unenforced law? I always thought it was interesting how European alcohol laws are much more lax but there also are less incidents of binge drinking. Thoughts?

I think all kids like to break rules. I don't think that people that are really responsible for themselves need laws and rules. I think it should be the parents responsibility to teach their children good habits and morals. However this is where we are to many laws and to much government because WE are not capable of being responsible human beings.
