The Optimum Population Trust is an organization dedicated to reducing the human population of Earth. To join a person must take a pledge to try to not have more than 2 children. One of British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown's leading "Green" advisors is a member of this gaggle of wackoes. He has warned that the UK needs to reduce it's population to 30 million. Since that is less than half of the current population, it isn't good enough to just cut down to only 2 kids, is it. I invite all who can support such stupidity to do the honorable thing for Planet Earth. If you truly think that the best thing that can happen to save the planet is a drastic reduction in the human population then what are you waiting for? Or is it what I suspect? You want others to do their part in carrying out "what's best", but not yourself? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article5950442.ece

You've hit the nail on the head. I see more and more the trend of thinking who may be expendable.. the pre-born, the disabled, the aged.. People don't think this is going on but it is. some in our ivory towers (universities) are debating such 'ethics' ideas as "is it more humane to save one life, or allow one to die that five others may profit from their organs?" I kid you not, I was shocked when I discovered this kind of crap is being discussed and under the guise of 'ethics' and 'humanity'. There are even some connected to the U.N. Which reminds me, why is the U.N. does not try to prevent and stop genocides being carried out in some of these less fortunate nations? (Besides thinking they will be able to work out world 'peace' once these despots get their dirty work done.)

If you think overpopulation is a problem, you speak about it, you talk about it, your encourage science and theorists to speculate...you enter it further and further into the social and academic arena, in other words. Forcing people, choosing how people should live their lives, is NOT the way to go. It's like the crusades, or the witch craze...killing people's just not how you improve your image, heh. (Forgive my examples, Para...or anyone who might consider taking offense, these things are fresh on my mind 'cause I've recently been discussing "madness and religion"...this isn't a slight on christianity, I've been defending the religion itself, and not the followers...so, just mind that it's late in my part of the world lol) Suspicions and presumptions. I think we're within rights, with this group. Especially considering the crap going on in Britain right now.

I used to dismiss these eugenics proponents as fringe, irrelevent nuts. I'm not so sure anymore. I eman, they are still nuts, but I fear there relevence is increasing and they are moving in fro the fringe. But, I echo your sentiments. If they feel this strongly about it, then yes, them first, have right at it and let me know how it works out for ya.
