What is your favorite book of classic literature. What did you like best about it? I would like to read through the best of the best. So far I've enjoyed most of the classics I've read but would love your recommendations.

I'm not a big fan on classics, but I do like a few and I've read a lot that are in public domain because then you can read them free online (see Project Gutenberg's website). I liked reading Beautiful Joe which is kind of like Black Beauty except it's a dog that gets tossed around and abused. And if you like science fiction, I recommend Kurt Vonnegut's 2BR02B.

I haven't really read an 'real' classic, since sci-fi has never been considered 'classic', but if you are looking for a good older novel, try Robert Heinlen's 'Stranger in a Strange Land'. For me it took a little time to get used to the way people talk, since we don't really talk like that anymore, but it was definitely worth it. Another book sci-fi book that is much newer, but still something that I think everyone should read, is Orson Scott Card's 'Ender's Game'. Happy reading!
