Why are they picking on the smokers .

We have seen more and more regulations on everything lately.
From everything to dogs to tattoos , and now cigerettes. They keep raising cigerette prices to the point of not being able to afford to smoke. I think it should be illigal to charge so much for something that does not cost that much to manufacture.
I do understand smoking causes health issues , yet , this is america , shouldn't I have a choice to do so or not . Now you may say, this is not a voilation of a freedom , yet in a loop hole kind of way it is . This is saying , only if you make enough money can you enjoy this past time. Or lets make it so exspensive that it is going to be pushed to black marketing. Have we not learned anything at all from prohibition days.
Next it is going to cost 5 bucks for a cheap beer I drink in my home, or what else are they going to take from us.
We can buy the gun , but not the bullets. America is not communist people . Wake up!!!!
Where is our freedom.

I think this is the whole point. Make the nasty things unafforable and maybe these people will actually get a clue. These things not only cause health issues, they will eventually kill you! They blacken your lungs, cause emphazema. Have you ever watched someone die from no longer being about to get sufficient oxygen? It isn't pretty. People suck on these things like there is no tomorrow and each time they do they are taking time off of their lives. They also cause 'health problems' for their own children from second hand smoke. It is serious stuff boys and girls! The cost of manufacturing has little or nothing to do with it. Where is your freedom? Where is your common sense?

Missing the big picture. WHAT IS NEXT!!! , wake up . Do you want to be able to leave your house when you want to . How will you feel when a curfew is installed. Or how will you feel when you can not cross your state line. My point is, this is the begining . You think this is such a small thing , and this is what screws with me and why I can not stand so many human beings on the face of this earth. You will not care until it affect you . You sit in your happy little world , and until the crap is dealt on your front doorsteps , you do not care.

i saw on msn that they are also planning on putting asin tax on spirits and gambling as well so the states can raise revenue.
