Just for the sake of lengthy discussions.......

I have seen a lot of people here that just for the sake of lengthy discussions they simply drag on the discussion going out of the topic. Some might repeat the same with every response they receive. I have seen some users replying with "have a nice day & happy mylotting " too. This also gives you one more line to your discussion.Do they really earn for those kinda things?

i don't put anything rubbish to make my sentences dragged very long, but can anyone tell me that are we paid as per the length of the discussion that we make or the quality of discussion that we make?

Only the admin can answer that question. We are paid for quality posts and everyone earns differently according to what they post. As long as you stay within the Guidelines you will be earning too Welcome and happy Lotting!

smartjack just keep in mind that it should be quality plus length to earn more. The length should contain the strength for the topic you are talking about. If you go on writing some rubbish who cares?Just watse of time on your part without earning money.

i think mylot would have a way or two so that they wouldn't be cheated with nonsense replies. i tend to write the happy mylotting thing or welcome to mylot for i know that i have a tendency to be misunderstood as too direct. i don't want enemies here or people evading my discussions. i know because i tend to avoid those that are a little rude in replying.

Hahaha...thats why you have a red star till now for ending with "happy mylotting" thing for others' posts.Hmmm not a bad idea for not getting the negative sign.I will also cultivate the habit.I will start first to you."HAPPY MYLOTTING.HAVE A GREAT DAY".

Do you think mylot pays for a lengthy discussion that has nothing but full of rubbish in it? I doubt. They maybe filling up the screen but it is boring to read. There are of course those that are very descriptive with very catchy subject to discuss which I am never bored reading even it means the length stretches from the north pole to the south pole. These are people who can really write and mesmerize the readers. There are no duplication of words used in their posts and reading it brings a lot of good feelings as the ideas poured out are of substance and informative. Certainly I welcome these sort of posts that fills the bank of knowledge in me.

Don't belittle yourself. We are both from Asian countries and from non english speaking background. I am very confident that I have come to your discussions before and to say that I didn't must have rob you of your right eyesight.

I do totally agree with you with your words of substance & information. The problem with people like me is that I am very poor in english which makes it difficult to put words of substance which might bring you good feelings. Why dont you reply to people llike me who might have so many things in their mind but who cant express them here in writing jus coz' their english is not good?

It really doesn't bother me to see something like that. Some people use a saying like "have a nice day & happy mylotting" like a type of signature type of thing that is almost like a part of their personality

PS--As far as lengthy discussions. I have to admit I can be very long-winded and write very long discussions and even make long replies to other people's discussions. I guess I owe that to the writer in me....LOL

To be honest sometimes I don't realize just how long some of my discussions will turn out until they are actually posted. Once they are I think "OMG--did I write ALL that?"

I don't know if it really earns them more money by doing it. Actually, I think it is OK to get some lengthy discussion per comment of the user(the respondent). Some respondents rarely read the previous comments and discussions, so the author of the discussion would discuss again the topic under the comment of the user. Well, I don't also think this is an issue. All I know is that it feels good whenever your discussion has lots of comments and lots of people answering back to every comment you make.

When I respond on my own or other discussions and I get the feeling that the user will not come back to discuss then I usually say 'happy Lotting' and more often than not I am right and they don't comment again. Where I leave it out is where I usually am talking with a user who wants to discuss (which is what myLot is all about) and indeed I receive a comment. I don't post it for extra earnings because I have no idea if it earns or not. Those are my reasons note that I left it out here because I know you will comment back

Here in Italy we say 'I know my chickens' I can 'feel' which of my friends will return and carry on the discussion so it's not difficult to know whether to leave a greeting or wait. Even the newer users, once they realise what myLot is all about, will not see my last line immediately. Some of them catch on very quickly - right Mr. Krupesh?

Well I think that depends on Mylot. They say that they are not allowing one liner responses. So I guess they do not pay them too. As for replying a short message to a post I think they are not paid at all.

Yes it would be better to discuss here at MYLOT after reading the MYLOT guidelines before doing anything. Why simply waste time without earning anything or without any FUN?

Hi Rupesh, I don’t think mylot is paying for just wishing like, ‘have a nice day’ or ‘happy mylotting’ or expressing gratitude. I think mylot is considering the quality and not quantity and paying accordingly. So it is not possible to get payment by filling nonsense or repeating the same again and again. I usually express my gratitude and wish a nice day to my responders while commenting back to them. I felt it is a good habit and I am indebted to my friends/members in mylot for taking time to respond me. So it means I concerned about them. But I usually avoid these things while responding to somebody’s discussion and if I add something, the person (who started the discussion) may be a close friend to me.

I try to make my responses as long as I possibly can to get more earnings. I usually stay on topic though, I'm not that desperate for a lengthy response. I write what I have to and sometimes add a little extra here and there. I'll also sometimes explain the same thing in more than one way, this way everyone has a chance at understanding what I'm saying. I never add "have a nice day and happy mylotting" to the end of my replies. I don't really see much of a point and I hardly care if someone else does it or not.

There is no harm when you say "have a nice day & happy mylotting" if you have commented with a quality content which has the required topic content & a good explanation for that topic.

Have a nice day and happy mylotting is a sentiment from the person and I don't think that these person writing it to gain more. As for as I am concern this one liner does make any difference. It is just pleasantries and it is wonderful that these responders are being thoughtful because sometimes you are not having a good mylotting nor a nice day and just receiving these words perk you up.

I have seen people who would have commented 2 lines & are desperate to add a third line. Here the third line would be the pleasentries what you are talking about.I dont see their increased earnings just by this.

If there's a thing called culture in mylot perhaps repetitive questions and discussions is already within it, everything and almost everyday almost same question coming out from mylotters. My view on that however is this, we are a social network community with 167,420 population as for this post, hence, some discussions are not necessarily viewed by other mylotters and come up in there mind and starts a discussions, while others are just rephrasing it for some reasons perhaps, I say perhaps to generate responses to their own set of friends or something. Its totally okay on my part, I have seen someone posted the same topic as I do, while there are also times, I did the same thing "unconsciously" somebody had already made discussions way back. The same thing with have a nice day and happy mylotting which to me is part of this culture and to my view its a gratitude to someone who made the effort of responding to the discussion and whom I viewed may not be able to respond me back, so I say thus in my posts.

I am not talking here about repetitive discussions. Its OK if you show gratitude to fellow MYLOTTERS as long as you dont have in mind that you want to make your discussion lengthy.

If I have something to say, I just say it. Sometimes it is just one word which is against myLot's Guidelines. Other times I just go on & on & on as I have plenty that I want to say. I'm not worrying about how much money I'm making. I'm just having fun. The Guidelines state that we are to make quality posts. From the best I can figure out, quality= length. So, the more I say, the more I'm falling within the Guidelines. I do believe the longer responses makes more money for the person responding & the owner of the discussion. Short discussion/responses don't make you as much money as the longer ones do. So, the more you can say, the more you will make. I think it is important to stay within the topic as going out of topic is breaking the Guidelines!!! I seldom say Happy myLotting as most use it as a canned response.I don't know if this is true or not, but I believe the emoticons help earn you a little more money. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

YA thats what I mean , there are so many discussions for which there will be not more than a single line. For example "which place do you live"?For that instead of replying its better not to as it doesn't fetch you anything. Some people would elaborate the same reply with how the place they live was formed , the history of that place & so on...thats what I dont want to see just for the sake of earnings why hit a nail to our head?

I believe that there are some people out there who likes to post long lengthy comments.I don't blame them,It is the quality of the post that counts.I myself also do not like to read 1 or 2 words or sentence answer. Maybe the people like to wish mylotters happily posting or responding online when they end with that sentence.I don't know whether it is true or not but I shall give them the benefit or doubt. After all they do take their time to type and post long enough discussion.

I'm a myLot member for two months now and i have used hello, hi, happy myLotting and other forms of greetings not because i want to earn more but because i just treat everybody i respond to as my friend. For me it is just a way of connecting to the person who started the discussion wherein it evokes a memory from my past. I have made a few lengthy responses because they are from my own personal experiences. I tend to write long when i feel that the reader would understand it better if i put in those parts that are related to the topic and which would make my story complete. So here i go... Hi krupesh!
