Hi gr8life, you don't like flowers and plants? are you allergy? I understand that since when I was a kid, I don't like them either and my family loves it and from time to time, I just learned to appreciate it's beauty! heheheh! Thanks for sharing!

Hello checapricorn, Well, I think I am a weird and rare species! I don't have allergies but I don't like them just for no apparent reason. Maybe it has to be with my habit of not eating vegetables. Oh, yes! I am a carnivorous!

The flower has been identified as an iris. They bloom for a short time in the spring. They are very easy to grow but do need thinned out now and again. After they have stopped blooming trim the leave back to about 6 inches from the ground. They need some of the leaves to produce next year. The roots or Rhizome (bulbs)can be planted i the fall and not need to plant very deep.

Yes just leave the plant where it is and it will come back year after year producing more Rhizomes. there may come a time when they need thinned out due to over crowding.

Hi dee, wow..thanks for sharing some tips about this flower. I noticed actually that they don't need a lot of taking care, they survive so easy! SO, you mean after cutting the leaves, I will just leave it there in the place? Last year, I cut some leaves since it was yellowish and I threw them away!

That's definitely an iris. They are easy to grow and reproduce by themselves quite easily. You can plant one bulb this year and have several more by next year. I had to laugh at the first response - Irish. LOL ...

I just love irises! They grow wild in Louisiana. You can grow them in or out of water.
