How many of you are members of the Society for Creative Anachronisms, and what kingdom/principality are you from? I am from The Shire of Trinovantia Nova in the Kingdom of Ealdormere. My society name is CĂș Allaidh, I am a newbie heavy fighter, I've been playing for less than a year now.

I'm not a member of SCA but I do go to a lot of the local (within 100 miles) Renaissance Festivals. The SCA was huge in California but on the east coast, well, I don't really come across a lot of people into it until the sites start posting their events. For me it's a nice break from modern conveniences like computers, cell phones and PDA's. A few yaers ago I worked a few of them and it was a complete blast. I am hoping that after my physical therapy is done and I can walk better I can get back into it befoe the summer events start. Good luck with your thread!

Thanks for responding. SCA is not real huge here, but there is a good group here in my shire, and we're growing slowly. Funnily enough I had no interest in going the first time I went to a fight practice, a friend who had been a fighter in another kingdom talked me into going. Ironically he decided not to continue after the first practice, but I was hooked. I've only been to one event so far, Renaissance Festivals are almost unheard of here, I have never been to one, but SCA events happen frequently and I am hoping to go to alot more.

SCAdians unite! I'm Adeliz from Caer Anterth Mawr, Northshield. I've been in for about 5 years (off and on) and just started fighting last year.

Hi there. I'm not an active SCA member at this time either, but I would love to get involved with it again. I am from the kingdom of An Tir. (live in southern Oregon) You sure meet some neat folks at events.
