Conformity

I was young I rebeled My causes were the ideals of my peers I fought wasting my talents Wasting my words On ears that would not hear Now I see another's eyes Glowing with these same causes I see yesterday's tomorrows in the eyes of my daughter

I like that Mary ellen , I assume its one of yours, have you published it . Did your inspiration come from your own daughter ... I have a daughter now 40 and your writting really rang a bell 4 me *

Yes, the poem is one of mine and it was published and won an award from a local writer's group. My youth was in the rebelling 60's and when my daughter was three and wouldn't listen to anyone, I realized that rebellion is part of life and not part of a generation.
