Sh1t, I really feel ashamed of myself. There is no way to correct it either. But what the devil had seized me that I committed that silly grammatical mistake in my earlier post entitled "Are Horoscope and Zodiac signs have anything..." Violent volcanoes are about to erupt in side me. I repent the mistake. I know it well that there should have been "Do horoscopes and..." And I wrote...'are'." Just think is it a pardonable error? Have you ever been is similar cognition? Sorry friends Rajib. 04.05.09

Krajibg! Does not matter if you made such mistake. We all do such mistakes and sometimes we come to know about mistakes, once we have submitted our response/comments. I often commit silly mistakes, when I am trying to accelarate in responding. If I get to notice my mistake immediately after submission, I go for posting a corrigendum to it. Just chill and relax, it happens with each of us.

Does not matter, if there is some mistake in a post, a corrective post, in continuation could also be started.

Hi deepak, Yes that happens, and if it is with response or comment there is a chance to write a corrigendum but in case of a post it is difficult. Thanks for the word pal.

I have definitely seen far worse mistakes. I have even made far worse mistakes. Do worry about it. I just tell every one that I had a senior moment or something. It is definitely nothing to fret about.

Hi, yes I too have seen mistakes being committed and most of them are due to ignorance but when you do and know that it is a sort of blemish I really feels bad. Thanks a lot.

It was you who catch your error and let me know that it was not a correct grammar. He he he, Rajiv Bhaiya also does mistakes. What do you think? Are we going to let you sneak out, no you deserve a punishment. You will have to use your signature in every of your discussion as well as respnoses. Worth a punishment, isn't it? Just kidding though, don't take it seriously!

As you would have seen, there were a lot of gramatical plus spelling errors in my response, that is why I said, Rajiv Bhai 'also' commits mistakes! Never mind because it is good that you accepted it.

Hi Rajib! You are feeling bad about it as you are a linguist.Just like a dancer feels when her step falters. The more perfect you are the more you feel bad.I make a lot of grammatical errors, sometimes by mistake and sometimes because of ignorance. But It happens so many times that if I start apologising for the errors I will have to do so for almost half of the comments I have posted.

It happens to me from time to time, maybe because our fingers are faster than our brain or we're just thinking of something else. Don't be too hard on your self. Making mistakes is one way of learning. It's inevitable, a process that we all have to go through.

one time when i was on some cold medicine i posted a discussion and i used the word "Evolution" instead of "Reincarnation" (yeah i was REALLY loopy to have confused those) and didnt realize till i had already gotten several replies to it and i was so embarrassed.. i am usually fine on cold medicine but i dont know what happened that day! and it was horrible because i couldnt just hope no one would notice because people kept replying to it so i had to explain and everything.. lol.. i posted a discussion afterwards to kind of explain/apologize and everyone just laughed and told me not to stress over it.. i think its a thing you have to do at least once here as a member!! but yeah it is annoying when its you that makes the mistake!

Hello Moon, So you knew the exactness of the feelings when a person who is in good command over a matter commits silly mistakes. The same thing passed with me too. It was around three hours and many had already responded to it. Thanks for sharing.

I do not think that you should worry too much over it. The purists may look at such mistakes with disdain but even native English speakers do make mistakes. So it should not be expected people like us to have a perfect command and mastery over the language. I have made mistakes in the past and am not proud of the errors. What I do now is try not to repeat them because it can affect us in many ways. all the best, rosdimy

dada,i saw that yesterday night. you don't have to repent for such mistakes. "to err is human and to forgive divine". so you made a mistake and we forgive you like divine...hehhehee well, such mistakes do happen and there is no point in repenting... if one knows the mistake that is enough... so, no worries!!

Well, I guess one would feel bad about it. But, what is done is done and you cannot rectify it except by writing to my lot admin and asking them to delete that discussion. That would be a matter of individual choice. I too do make typing errors frequently, but nowadays I do not fret too much. One of the valued members here put my mind to rest by saying that a typo or two does not matter between friends. I have stopped worrying over it. People who read and responded to that discussion with mistakes are not going to judge you based on that. They are all friends and no one is perfect. So, why should we worry too much? If it is a response or comment, we can immediately write out ‘sorry for the error’; this situation about a discussion topic with errors would be slightly difficult. I too had forgotten to give proper space between two words in a discussion of mine and I did feel bad about it. But later I did not bother because it had made sense. That was enough for me. So, I do not think it is such a matter of grave concern Rajib; cheer up!

Making mistakes is nothing but human and natural. All of us do make mistakes some less and some more. All we can do is to type up the matter carefully and read that if not twice but at least once. There are some spelling and grammar mistakes that despite your best efforts you do make. I know there are some spelling mistakes that even if you read that several times you will still overlook that and it will be carried over as a mistake. However, with extra care we can decrease but cannot totally eradicate mistakes.
