What will you do if you are in the middle of a boring discussion?

Hi mylotters, I was very busy this week that I have no enough time doing mylotting for we have our seminars. This morning we have a good and eloquent speaker and we really enjoy and wish that we have much time with him, but our second speaker seems to be boring. She was a good speaker too but her voice and her topic was not that interesting, I have observed that almost all the participants don't want to listen but they cannot go out for it is not a good attitude or disrespect to the speaker. Some draws, some write something not related to what the speaker was saying and the worst some were sleeping. I cannot help it to but I try my best to listen to look at the speaker for she is not moving and I try to control my eyes from closing. How about you have you encounter this situation in the middle of a boring speaker where in you cannot easily go out? What will you do? please share your experiences thanks and God bless.

I make eye contact with the speaker often because I do not want them to think I am ignoring them and I look down at what I am writing ocasionally. I may be making a grocery list or any other thing but I try hard to pretend to care if the topic is boring.

Whenever I happen to be in such a situation I always feign listening to the speech intently focusing my eyes on the speaker keeping my face serious and at the same time murmur some funny comments about the punishment we are undergoing to the ones next to me making it very hard for them to sniffle their laughter.I try to make the tough time into a funny one.

I know why you have used the word, "God Bless" at the very end. It is because you don't want anyone to be in a boring discussion, isn't it?
Well, I have been to many boring discussions. I have been to it when I was in my office last to last year. I used to be sleepy most of the time but thanks to my friend sitting beside me, he always used to wake me up at time so that no one could catch me sleeping! LOL

I usually try to think of corresponding information something I can onnect with the speaker's topic in an effort to make their lecture more interesting. Also, since I'm a doodler I try to picoralize whatever the speaker is talking about, taking non-verbal notes if you will. Or, if worse comes to worse I'll paraphrase the lecture every few minutes inbetween doodling. But above all I try adn seem interested - I'd want the same done for me. :)

I usually browse the internet or reply to my e-mails using my cell phone WAP browser under the table...LOL :) But this really help me from falling asleep really :)
