Are you ready for WWIII?

With biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons, WWIII would certainly make a mess of our ecosystems that we live in. Toxic waste clean up would be an absurd concept. We keep hearing news of North Korea and Iran versus nuclear weapons programs. Since the Sole surviving superpower, the United States has thousands of weapons of mass destruction, and the United States is at war in occupied Iraq because Saddam Hussein's Regime supposedly had weapons of mass destruction. The Middle East occupation by the United States is being done through continuing to increase our debt by the trillions of dollars. World Wars happen to be a way for the wealthy to increase their wealth and cancel debts. That was before Hiroshima and Nagasaki... Well, are you ready? And if not, got any ideas on how to stop the crazy cycle we have found ourselves in?

Oh, Steve! How can we be ready? Just about anyone who has the weapons, and there are more of those than we know, certainly, can wipe us all out in a flash, no pun intended. Each of us must do all we can to participate in advancing the cause of peace.

Are you familiar with the Southern Poverty Law Center? I'm a very active participant in its Teach Tolerance programs, and they have wonderful ideas and projects for stopping bullying. There are other organizations that work on this,, but I think SPLC is the best. They have a hate groups map, and it's shocking! You can zoom in on your area, and the results are amazing! They also have a lot of good plans for doing away with hatred and discrimination.

This SPLC sounds worthwhile. I would be interested in what laws are on the books that can be used to cause consequences for bullying.

Exactly! The old term for Cold War "diplomacy" was the acronym: MAD for Mutual Assured Destruction. As more and more countries get more and more weapons some little thing could escalate sooooooo fast... To work to remove the occasion for war must not forget those who make the weapons and are willing to use them. Are they rational? I think not. Ultimately the outlawing of all bullying in all its forms is an essential component of removing the occasion of war.

The are enough nuclear weapons in our world to blow the world to smithereens many times over. It is crazy. North Korea is a serious threat to world peace. I do not know the solution. Would some half crazed person set off a nuclear weapon? The likelihood is yes. I wuld not weant to live in a world after a nuclear attack. Think of what happened to Horoshioma after the A bomb? So mnay deforemd children were born and it is till having effects all the years later. I so wish that I had an answer = but I don't.

Ultimately, President John Kennedy was right when he said that we [meaning nations] need to learn to settle our differences legally instead of militarily. The BIG problem is that it is "legal" to bully. Don't confuse right and wrong with what is "legal." With nations comes leaders who have sovereign rights. Sovereign rights means the rights of a King... Every single leader of every single country has the "right" to behave internationally as a King. The era of Kings still exists. Our kids are taught the "History of Civilization." What a lie. They are being taught a "History of the Victorious Bullies" that is distorted to make the victors look good. There is no civilization. Not yet. International readers may think me an arrogant American when I think it is up to us Americans to clean our house before it is too late and lead the world into an era of World Peace, peace being the absence of war, not the absence of violence. Get clear. The term Super Power has meaning. The United States is the sole Super Power and it is not working, the world is not stable, the competing bullies, well just cannot stand being bullied. Can they? While striving to move the World toward a Utopia is worth while, I do not believe we will ever get there. Every generation was a small percentage that gets a taste for bullying and then they cannot stop without intervention and will have to be watched for the rest of their lives. There will always be a need for prisons to lock up the convicted bullies and if they are truly crazy, we will need to move them to insane asylums. No Utopian dreamer would call a world perfect that relies on one having prisons and insane asylums. The mechanism to achieve this I believe is a USA Constitutional Convention, called Con-con for short. All positive change that has occurred in federal law evolution has occurred as the result of populist movements like the Civil Rights movement associated with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The two parties resist progress... We Americans can Amend our Constitution to resolve the many abuses in power, but most especially the legal sanctioning of starting war should be near the top of our list. Do not forget that President Bush started the Iraq war... It is a huge difference between defending oneself versus being a bully and pouncing on someone. There. Did I answer your question?

You answered my question more than adequately. You have the gift of expressing yourself so beautifully and clearly. Some of you points I want to think about more before I can make an adequate response. Many thanks for taking the time to explain - I so appreciate it.
