My girlfriend and I failed to FLY a KITE!

Why fly a kite? I rather stay at home and enjoying my Facebook! What to do.. my girlfriend was nagging at me. She so wanted to fly a kite for long.=.=To keep her quiet. I went down town and bought a kite for her. She felt happy with her kite. I drove her to a park nearby to fly the kite.
one, two, three.. I released the kite and she ran all over the field. The kite did fly but it dropped. I did the same again and again for an hour.
The kite was up half way.. and fell down. Flew up half way and fell down again. And we went home so disappointed.
Hoping there can be a Fly-A-Kite-Game application in Facebook. So I can just ask her to sit in front of the computer and fly her kite.
I wonder.. How to fly a kite. Maybe I can impress her more when I fly the kite so high and it goes into the space.

I think it is not bad to be out to play kite with your lover whether you like it or not, spending time with your loved one is always a good time! :-)
I used to play kite once in a while with my mom and sister, my mom could do it good but I couldn't, I usually had my mom flied it high first then I kinda held it with my sister! :-p
Maybe you can look online or find some books that can teach you how to fly, hopefully you can fly it better next time to show off toyour girlfriend!

hehe`, i'll surely fly with her one day again. Our fist attempt was a epic failure. We have our first trial. No worry it failed. We'll try for the second time. It will fly for the next time. =)
And it does feel good to spend some time at the park.

You should change your minds, girls and boys are different. I think you should learn to understand girls' innermost feelings.

girls and boys, boys and girls. i agreed sometimes it truly difficult to understand what is girl having in their hearts. Thank goodness that at the moment, my girl and I, we're just as good. =))

I am sorry to hear that. I had the kite that exactly like yours. It is not difficult to make the kite fly. If you think it's hard for you at the beginning, then next time you shall buy a small kite. So it will be easier for it to fly high. If the wind is not so strong enough, perhaps you can run at first.

You love China? I love China too` especially Shang Hai. By the way, I could not find any smaller kite. That's the smallest size. You are right. It's difficult to fly a kite without wind. We were like running here and there so exhausted. =.=

This has happened to me but don't tell her to sit in front of the computer playing it
because then she might think your a lazy person ill give you 3 steps to how to fly one.
1. Make sure you get one that's over $10
2.make sure you set it up correctly
3.go to the park on a windy day

LoL` I chose not to be lazy and actually accompany her to fly the kite. It's bad to be lazy. Lazy person goes poorer` No.. no.. rofl! By the way, so thank you for the advice. I'll take note of that.

To fly a kite, you need wind. You dont need to run like little kids. Just stand there, let the kite fly and control the string. It's all in the string. And your fingers. Pull and let go of the string according to the wind. Good luck richard!

better luck next time. We're going to fly it again one day when we're free in the evening. I wonder why there is no one flying kite at Taman Titiwangsa. Maybe there's no wind there. =/

Let me recalled, I think the last time I fly a kite will be like
30 years ago... that's long long time ago. After reading your
discussion, I think I am gonna make a kite and fly it with my son.
The childhood/kampung feeling is coming back!
Agreed with Merryn, the elements that need to present is winds,
technic on pull & let go to raise the kite higher... & once u get it,
u will definitely enjoy it. All the best & good luck!

kampung feel`.. truly. The "kampung" feel. Ever since I came studying in city, there's no longer any kampung feel. Perhaps, once in a while fly a kite and it helps to bring back such a memory.

I too have recently had a lesson in trying to remember how to fly a kite - epic fail! It was for my wife, I made it up to her by buying her chocolate. It is only a temporary fix, and I must figure this thing out. As far as a computer app goes, nothing compares to the real thing! It's been years since I've actually flown one, but I remember how much fun it was. So I will continue to try and so should you.

hey richard, do not worry, you will be able to do it on another day, when the breeze is really good for you to fly the kite. i guess today was not the best wind days, and it is very difficult to fly the kites on such days. if you are lucky and fly it high, then it might have the help of the breeze at the higher altitude. otherwise, you should ahve just gone up the terrace of any high rise buildings. that would have helped.

Lol` no worry, yeah`. It's all for the fun. Still, I want it to fly into the SPACE! I day dream that when I was a kid. Buy a super long thread and wait until the super wind blows at it. SHOOT into the sky`

your girlfriend is probably just trying to relive some of her childhood, or is just really bored. don't tell her you want to go on facebook because she may think your being selfish or lazy. now to fly a kite you need a very windy day, a good kite, and a lot of energy. you first wait for the wind to pick up and then toss the kite into the sky. if it seems to be falling, start running around. it may not go into space, but it will fly. the key is to fly it when there is A LOT OF WIND!;]

You can search the internet to get some informations which how to fly a kite? You should follow your girlfriend's oponion. Because she is your girlfriend.

gooluck at flying kites bro. anyway flying kite is not that easy,you must experience on doing it. i have been flying kite.since i was in gradeschool. i think kite seasons. starts from sept to december,where winds are strong.
