Milk is perhaps the most nutritious drink besides soy bean. When I was younger, I drank powdered milk. Now I drink fresh milk with cereals but I take the one with more calcium and less fat coz i'm not young anymore (u can guess my age already). This morning, I drank a glass of cow's milk. SO with so many types of milk, which do you drink? Any reasons for drinking it?

hi patofgold23, well i can't blame you coz milk is not "tasty" to many; it's an acquired taste. Maybe it's the smell too - just like why some people don't take certain types of fish because of the smell.

Dear Kevchua, I drink fresh milk too - 'Marigold Fresh Milk with Oats' Delicious and healthy too. At times I will buy Marigold Hi&Lo with High Calcium and Low in Fat... I totally agree with you, we much watch what we drink especially we are no more young. Sometimes I shared with my mum - the well established Anlene Hi-Calcium Milk Powder - Good for our bones :) All the ebst, goodnite..

Personally I drink 2 per cent or whole cows milk since I only have a couple of glasses a day and it being a fairly natural drink it is good for the body. I also drink soy milk though it is chocolate since I am perimenopausal. It has helped me be more even tempered, less hot, no flashes and sleep better. Cheaper than a doctor. Am even growing soybeans this year to make my own which will be cheaper yet. Am not fond of nuts so those kind of milks are not part of my pantry. Also yogurt and ice cream which is part of or made of milk are a big part of our diet. Have never been able to drink powdered milk though I will cook with it easily. Have never had goats milk and have heard it is naturally homogenized. Would like to try it though.

hi Willowlady. Great to hear that you're growing soy beans in your own yard. It certainly is good for the health - both the beans and the planting. Yeah, we don't need to go see a doctor all the time. We have natural healers for some common illnesses. It's good to know that milk actually helps in sleeping and controlling temper. I didn't know that till now. I'd like to try goat milk some day too.

I mostly drink 2% chocolate, but sometimes whole chocolate milk. I drink a lot of milk, and buy a lot of it at the store. I get some looks because I have so many jugs in my cart, especially when I tell them they're for me. I used to be embarrassed about it because I drink so much milk in a day, but now I have people asking me all kinds of questions because I would drink a whole gallon at a time, wondering if I am a football player or a weightlifter because of my size. I tell people that I am bulking up (which I am), and that this stuff feels so go after heavy lifting. I am a big guy, so drinking a gallon at once is nothing for me, especially since I go through 2 a day. I love how it feels, quenches a thirst, fills my stomach, soothe sore muscles, help maintain strong bones, and gain weight.

I am mildly lactose intolerant. I try to put a spoonful of fresh milk in my coffee though, instead of the creamer. But a glass of milk for a good night's sleep is a no-no. Most likely the night will turn erratic.

I drink nonfat cow milk. I like having it in the morning with cereal or sometimes with a cookie or a brownie. I don't know if I can grow anymore but I can definitely use the calcium

milk, indeed is a good source of protein, calcium, and a way to kick start our baby life when we were feed with milk for at least the first 6 months.. however, not many people can have milk, as some has lactose intolerate, and they can't have milk since the baby age.. As for me, I have not taken milk since God know when.. I just can't stand the smell of milk, especially in the powder form. And very strange, I ended working in a cafe, which I deal with milk everyday. I will have milk with other components but not the milk by itself..
