I'm smelling a scam here...and plan to copy my blog entries and see if I can save them to post for my own blog elsewhere.....going to have to look at those Terms again if they own the rights to my own blog there....would like to delete my account and would like to post some of my material I wrote there like I said on another blog I have before I do..this blog at Today.com was supposed to earn money.....never got a cent since I didn't make or qualify for payout as they changed their terms. I'm really fed up how these sites change their rules, like a lot of writing sites do that have turned out to be scams

I stopped writing there a while ago. I did not get those mails, but I would not be surprised if they were sent to me and just ended up in my spam box where stuff from them rightfully deserves to be.

It does seem as though they are spamming people--maybe they aren't doing so great financially wish and need some "ploy" to get money in order to pay out their bloggers

I got the same emails. I don't know what is going on but I can tell you they do pay because I have been paid by them. I got my first payment right after they changed their payment thing from $1 per post to just page views.

I think that's when I lost interest with them when they changed to page views. Yes, I do know a number of people who blogged there and earned money big time which was why I joined up...I had only been there awhile though when they changed their paying policies...figures.

i know. writers definetly get screwed online.i've seen so many open and close in the past year.one of my other friends just gave up and got her an LJ account for her own fun. she figures maybe it'd be good for a journalism portfolio or something.

My Today.com account got terminated as I didn't blog for so long (I forgot my user name and besides, I was too busy earning better money for my writing elsewhere!) That was a year ago but yesterday I, too, got one of these mails - it was like I'd never been away. It looks less of a blogging site, and more of a "let's make money from our users" site, now.

Yes this just seems like one more disappointment for me. I joined up when they were paying $!.00 per posting at one's blog...now it's page views...with that it take me forever to reach payout

I got weird messages from them too. I never log into it anymore and forgot about it. So I just deleted these when they came into my inbox. It did not interest me to continue with that site.

Sounds like a scam to me, Pye. They are trying to get you to spend money and may not even deliver if you did.

Sounds kind of phishy to me....I don't like when these emails talk to you about your password and how you can retrieve it, blah blah. Did you happen to contact them personally by email and ask what is going on? If you do, I wouldn't contact them through any of these links you have, it doesn't sound right.

Nope those links are legitimate. I've been emailing Today.com about this...have a follow up discussion about this as I wanted to see if I could repost my blog material elsewhere. If I had known they in effect OWNED my blog material I would never have started up with them..or either that written fluff stuff and not some of the personal things I did that were in effect an on-line diary/journal

hi pyewacket you didnt sign up for them but somewhere in all'the adveritsing is some trick where you sign your name and bang you 'get allthe s tuff you have just shown us and you are going ,what is'goiing on here, I did not sign up for any of this . I almost got sucked in then I deleted everything and never went back.just another scam in all the scams out there. i once entered a sweepstakes for some off the w all phone company and inadvertantly signed something that said put us on your phone list, my son found all these unusual charges on our phone bill and we tracked it back to this sweepstakes entry thing.so he was able to get that charge d eleted.
