End of the World is near! Is it real?

Guys, I've been reading and watching videos about end of the world this coming December 2011. It seems that there is scientific explanations regarding this matter and the world is now preparing for that. Selection of survivors is started. This means that only few will survive on the coming end of the world. Only those who are intelligent and can contribute to develop a new world is being selected. So what will happen to the rest? What do you think about it? Do you think its real? If you have other information about this topic, you may share it here.

There is no specific date, but the year believed is 2012 because of many reasons. The mayan calender is the main reason because almost all of their predictions have came true. You can check out the Link below to get more info regarding 2012 & do tell me your opinions or else go to my profile & go to the site under my pic. However I really can't believe it unless it really happens. Happy Lotting http://taztheexclusive.tk

Technicality...December 21, 2012. The end of the Mayan calandar, and the Chinese fortune telling says the same thing...doesn't really matter, though. The gist of the story is that the polarity of the earth is going to reverse, causing the crust of the earth to rotate 180 degrees over a period of who knows how long...the faster the change, the more destructive the outcome. Supposedly. I've been pretty interested in this lately as well, but I am also believing I will not be on this earth when this supposed "disaster" occurs. That's the beauty of faith...I don't have to fear anything this world has to offer...I'm only passing through! Dive Deep!

"The gist of the story is that the polarity of the earth is going to reverse, causing the crust of the earth to rotate 180 degrees over a period of who knows how long...the faster the change, the more destructive the outcome" What you just described here is geologicly impossible.

I'm sorry but I am not going to believe that the world is going to end because some calender said so. This calendar was written ages ago, as if they would be able to predict the future. Or maybe they just weren't bothered to write anymore and said that that day was the end of the future. Whatever it is, it's rubbish. Remember all those other times the world was suppose to end? When a rock would hit us, or that time we were supposed to get sucked in a black hole? All a piece of crap.

There's no specific date when, maybe later, tomorrow or the next day. Only God knows when and why. We have to be prepared and feel sorry for our sins.

No, Penn & Teller did an episode on it on their show Bullshi_, the entire purpose of which is to expose these kind of things. It's not even true on the Mayan calendar, as is per pouted.

Good day.. If it's true or not remains to be seen, let us assume that it is true, what can we do? This is the force of nature we're facing and we are utterly helpless. We have yet to find or discover technology to forecast incoming earthquakes or hurricanes, predict more accurately the path of storms and their possibility of becoming superstorms. I mean we are infants in the eyes of mother nature nothing we can do but improve our lives, be good, hope and pray that the earth would give humanity a little longer to live.

I don't think that this is going to happen. That are just supersitions, like not to open an umbrela inside the house, i did it so manny times and here i am! However do you really care if it is true? I think the probability of this to happen is much lower that te probability of dieing we have every single day when we wake up, each seccod, there are thousand or millons of possible ways we could unespectedly or not, die. If the 2012 thing is false, go to hell mayans or whoever for unnecessary putting more pain into our painful society. If it is true, go to hell mayans! Have a nice day and enjoy your last three years in this planet!

I have been hearing about this since the last 20 years. waiting patiently to witness the end. many who came to me telling how it will come and so on are still waiting in hope that one day it will happen according to their scriptures. but the sadness on their face that the event is not happening is really funny to watch. i'm enjoying their failure. the world has a long time to go. it is december 2012 and not 2011. its according to mayan calender. its probably a cosmic event that will bring in some kind of change in the alignment of plants, sun and stars. i am not sure of what exactly will happen. may be it will change the attitude of the people. so dont worry about end of world. live your life. there is lot of time for the end to come and it will not come in the next few 100 generation. according to bible and quran, it is time and that is slowly passing out without an end in sight. now mayan calender of 2012. that too will pass without much problems. Live in peace. and wake up to a better world every day.

If the selection as you wrote above is true, then this world is insane already. We ALL ARE PEOPLE and all people are about the same, regarding sexes, religions and every single thing. But if you wrote the end of this world will happen in December 2011, I don't believe that. And by the way, who selects the survivor selector? It's about the same as 'who watches the watchmen?'. It doesn't make any sense. And who makes the rule upon the selection?

There has been talk for years as to when the world will come to an end and as of this date there has been nothing to validate these claims therefore making it yet another unbelievable prediction. Until there is concrete proof that the world is coming to an end then I believe we should stop worrying ourselves and just focus on what we have until then.

Well you can always believe what you want , i've been into the whole nostradamus thing and all too . but hey we'll see , if we die then , teres nothing that we can do about it , and if we don't the people that were proven wrong will be proven wrong . Also about the mayans just a funny little thing that i'm going to say , perhaps they didn't go further than 2011 since their race got exterminated ? But we don't know what the future holds , we must live every day as fully as possible , and thats all i can say .

The first time I have ever heard about the world ending was when I was watching the movie The Number 23 and Jim Carey proved that the world was going to end on December 21, 2012. A while after I saw that movie more things kept coming up saying that the world will end on that day. I'm not really sure what to believe. But I'll admit, I am rather curious and a little bit scared.

Why be so pessimistic by listening to all these craps and then having doubts about it and then worry that the end of the world is coming? We should always look on the bright side of life and enjoy life to the fullest instead of thinking of dying and feel so damn terrified about it. Just live life as it is and whatever will be, will be. No point listening to all the craps and then fear the uncertain future.

There has been a count, there were 118 predictions of this kind, the first starting at 1000 A.C. Why would this one be any different. It's just media sensation!

Well, possibly true, if you believe man did not land on the moon. So, if they are pre-selecting and we are not included, so be it. After all this Noah's Ark story has been going around a lot in both science fiction stories and films and so it is nothing new. For me, I believe in God and know that God would not desert me. What about you? Fretting???[em]w00t

This is astrology stuff, it's far from being scientific. How many times have they said this before by the way? Last time, they say that the year 2000 is the end of the world, and there are people who actually hid themselves in caves. And then, there was this other story that the earth should experience a 24 hr darkness, they even explained it in a scientific way, then what happened? No end of the world, no 24 hr darkness. They just embarrass themselves. I'm not really close minded when it comes to this, but my point is.. these are hypothesis without proofs. Scientific may it be, but there is not enough evidence to support it. So, don't believe everything they say. However, I could say this.. it doesn't mean that because some predictions fail, there is no way they can become reality. There is always a possibility, although a very slim one.

I think it's some kind of hype being spread around just to keep us all preoccupied from a grand agenda being brewed by a secret society which is trying to take control of the world vying for global domination. Ha ha, quite a crazy idea but everything's possible. Though I don't think the world's going to end on 2011 or 2012, seems too soon. The way it looks like, the world is going to end when the sun just turns haywire and nears it's end where it's going to suck up everything near it and turns into a supernova of sorts so the solar system turns *poof*. And besides, survivor selection is definitely pointless because the world has already ended which means everything about our world will just be disintegrated, including the "survivors" that have been selected so it's kind of stupid spreading that news around. Unless they plan to shoot those "survivors" into deep space, which with our current technological level isn't quite possible. and would they even find a new world out there? Chances are quite slim. And even if they did, would they even survive long enough in space to propagate and eventually reach that planet alive? I guess I'd be more than glad to be part of "the rest" who get left behind, at least it would end my mortal suffering and start anew in another plane of existence. But if ever it will happen, I'd rather pass away earlier on so that I could protect the people I love from the other side and eventually give them another shot at life. By the way, I've read about the axial shift way back when I was a kid in grade school and I think it's possible. Why? We have our north and south poles, magnetic poles right? But I've also read somewhere that the magnetic north where the compass actually points to is located somewhere in Canada, a few degrees below the north pole. Well, whatever happens during that time, I have no regrets and I'm prepared to go as early as the start of this month. No biggie.
