Survivor Samoa – The Snake Recoils (Warning Spoilers) - Week 3

United States
October 2, 2009 8:55am CST
A stuffed snake I do not believe we have seen the end of Russell H. But I do believe that he had to rethink his strategy quite a bit in order not loose the trust of his teammates. His decision to oust his partner Ben was, I believe, the first move he made that I can wholeheartedly agree with. It was not his decision to get rid of Ben but he could not unbury the “Self-buried” Ben. An Open Grave I believe, as stated above, that since the beginning of the show Ben has been digging his own grave. Last night it just got to the point where the grave was just deep enough and he willingly threw himself in. His Grave stone, I am sure, says something like “Here lies the body of Ben…Oh well” Shambo…The other side Finally we get to see the other side of Shambo. She is actually an enjoyable person when it comes down to it. She was not overbearing or pushy. She was very cordial and most, except Russell H, seemed to have enjoyed her. I do not believe that she will use all her knowledge she gained to tell her team. I think she will keep it to herself so she will have an advantage if it came to a team mix up. Speaking of that, we now have 16 players. It would not surprise me in the least for a mixup next week. Even out the teams and mix them up real good. I personally would like to see that to be able to see those players that have not had much camera time. Want or Need Oh the folly of a man and a woman. Russell S may have hurt his stature in his tribe. Now they have pillows, but from what we saw last night, now it is raining. Have you ever tried sleeping on a wet pillow? It is not a good thing. Now with a good rain storm coming in I see this pampered team becoming rather miserable. That will change their game. We will have to see. Final Four SO…It is time for this week’s final four. Since Ben was not in my lists I am still safe. However, as I get to know people more these names will change from week to week. I still do not have someone I am saying “Boy I think they can win this” but here is my feel after 3 weeks. And remember, it is not who I want, but rather who I think can make it. Jaison may be in trouble depending on if Russell H sees him as a threat. At the same time if Jaison gets whiff of something coming his way he may make a move to expose the idol Russell has. So my 4 still include Mick Jaison Ashley Erik With Erik I really do not know him well enough, but from the VERY limited view we have of him, he may be a contender

Russell S picking the comfort stuff was just dumb. This opinion coming from a woman... As for evil Russell, I am a little bit more impressed with him. He knew when it was right to go with what the tribe wanted instead of what he wanted. If he had pushed for Ashley or anybody else to go, he possibly could have stabbed himself in the foot. I wonder if one of the two people who have gotten immunity idol clues will be smart enough to figure out that if there was an idol hidden at the other camp, there must be one in theirs also.

I think they already figured it out. In the preview, I thought I heard someone say that there must be an idol at Galu also if there is one at Foa Foa. Now Yasmin was an idiot because she didn't even look for the idol at Foa Foa nor bring it up at her own tribe! Dumb. But Shambo did look and I believe she will look back at her camp OR maybe someone else gets the idea to look.

I believe that there is one there too. Because the paper is the same no matter what team wins. I agree with you on Russ H. He is a great player. He may go much farther than I first assumed.

I don't quite agree about Russell. I think the only reason he backed down was because Jaison stepped up and everyone agreed with him. If Russell had tried to over power the decisin he would have lost some of his bullying power. You can bet his next plan will be to sabotage Jaisons standings. I think that Shambo might have figured out the idol bit. Just my thoughts. Leenie

I agree Russel h did the right thing by getting rid of Ben...I was really surprised he went along with it simply because he is so into "running the show" i didnt think he would acquiesce to someone elses opinion so easily....really glad he did though....was really glad to see Ben go....now it time to get rid of Russel H.... Though Russel H did go along with taking Ben out he is now out to get Jaison so I just hope the rest of the tribe doesnt listen to him on that one or Jaison may be out next....Im hoping by now everyone is cathching on to the snake and not trusting him so much....I wonder why Russel H hasnt put a fake idol in the tree yet?? It is always so funny to watch someone play those darn fake idols...lol Shambo sure got along better with foa foa than she does her own tribe....maybe if we are lucky and if your hunch is right there will be some switching up next week...be nice to see shambo go to foa foa and see Jaison go to galu so he will be safe...Id like to see jaison make it to the end...Im so glad he stood up to Ben last night over his racial comments....if ghetto trash isnt a racial comment then what is it?? And even if he didnt mean it racially which im sure he did....what about his ketchup sandwiches and koolaid comment...that is definately racial ...he makes me sick...good riddance. I agree 100% about Russel S....he definately should have picked the utility stuff....I said exactly what you did to my husband last night....how long will those pillows and towels be comfortable?? First time it rains they will be absolutely useless....and i bet when that happens the girls he was trying so hard to please will be complaining the loudest...especially when they start running out of food and really could use that utility stuff....bad decision on his part and may be his downfall... Im not really liking the whole pick a leader of the tribe thing this year...it was always fun to watch them struggle and fight and watch the natural leaders emerge....at least if they are going to make them pick a leader why not switch it up a little?? I guess if they vote him out then they will get a new leader?? The only one right now that i am attached to making it to the final is Jaison...im not all that familiar with the other tribe yet...are they giving foa foa way more air time? Or am i just so involved in my dislike of Russel H that I am not noticing the other tribe much?

They will always give the tribe that plays the hardest more air time. And really Galu has not been able to PLAY because they have never had to make a decision. They will get their air time soon. There will be a mix up or Galu will all make it to the merge. I personally believe with how lopsided things are they are going to have to mix it up. I think the leader idea is ok. It was based on first impressions and they have more power than a natuarla leader. I think alot of that came from last season when that team NEVER picked a leader and was just tromped on. I look forward to see what happens next.

I think they should change the leaders up more. Is Russell the leader FOREVER? I don't really get it. I liked it for the first challenge only, then after that I figured they would switch it up like random pick of a leader each week.

I think Russell realized that he can't keep pushing for people to go just because he doesn't trust them. Jaison wasn't buying the girls being a threat and Russell had to backpedal to please his tribe. He'll still say he's running the game though I don't believe he is at this point! Ben was a mess. I don't know what he was thinking unless he simply thought he was above them all and assumed he was safe. Shambo is a great person and I believe one of the few that is there for the experience and not for alliances and all that. The things she said about the Yoga crew was funny. How could you even enjoy Yoga while covered with dirt? I don't think they will mix up the teams just yet. If you notice, most of the challenges do not use everyone on the tribe and people are sitting out each week. I think they've done this on purpose so that both tribes could compete even if there are less on one tribe then the other. Although I would like to see another twist, just because I like twists :) As for the pillows, I thought that was DUMB and I'm a woman. My reason is that, while I like comfy pillows, I can't stand dirty pillows and blankets and I imagine these items will all be dirty in one day. I would have chosen a Tarp and it just shows how DUMB those girls are that they wanted the pillows. Russell is pleasing the wrong people and he even felt the need to give a speech explaining it. DUMB At this point I think someone from Galu is more likely to take it all just because they have the numbers and keep cutting Foa Foa down. Hey, by the way, didn't they used to do a reward challenge AND an immunity challenge? This season there is only one challenge an episode and I thought there were usually more.

It will be hard for Russell to live down the Pillow choice. IN the morning after it was raining (notice it was raining the night of tribal counsel) the girls are gonna be complaining and I bet nobody uses the pillows from that day on.

When have they done it before? CBS shows always lets the audience in on the secrets, even if they hide stuff from the rest of the cast.

True, because CBS would not gain anything by keeping that a secret. We'll have to see. He is playing like he has nothing to loose so I would assume he has nothing to loose.

Hey Pastor, Now the game is showing progress beyond Russels pea brain. I was so good to see Jaison step up and take some of Bully Russells self given power. You know that had to hurt. I don't see Mitch as a leader but I also don't think he would have volunteered for the job if given the chance. If Jaison continues to speak his mind, he may well strip Russells so called power. Under Jaison's leadership, I can see the group coming back from losing to winning. I also think this next week may be a restructure of tribes. That will really put a big hole in Bully's plans. I really enjoyed Shambo's visit as well. She was very smart in her approach. She treated everyone as individual and integral members of a team. I think giving them the courage to stand up and be heard at tribal. If they don't break up tribes soon, the Yoga group may not stand a chance. I know, a little yoga is good for the spirit and the soul but not in the jungle of Samoa!! Russell Swan really blew it by taking the comfort. Doesn't he realize that the women need to toughen up not get further into their soft luxurious ways. It's going to be their downfall. Ok final four...Mick, Jaison, Erik and John. I've changed my picks because not one of those girls or women with the exception of Shambo seems to be there to play, including Ashley. I think pretty boy John is finally stepping up and becoming a contender. We'll see how things play out. Leenie

I think you are right that not many are playing the game. Ashley, however was persuasive enough to win people to her side for the vote. That has to countfor something. I think Russ will keep Jaison around longer just to try to win a challenge.

I really do not think that everyone knows how controlling Russell is. Watch carefully when he is talking to people he puts on a very submisive "Let's come together and make a decision" type person. Often getting the person he is talking to to name the one he has chosen. In doing that he makes that person feel in control while he maintains control. Then when he is just talking to the camera he is a jerk.

I think it may be much harder for Russell to get rid of Jaison now. In the beginning everyone was confused and scared about what was going on. Now they see more clearly that Russell is trying to control. As for Ashley, I think she has poetential if she allies with a strong partner. She is a strong person in her convictions but as long as Russell is around she needs a back up. I would love to see a back up next week.;

Getting rid of Ben was the right thing to do, and in my opinion it really should have happened last week. But alas, Russell H is the one that is running the show and he didn't think that it needed to happen last week. Now, as sad as it is to say, I really think that Mick and Jaison need to talk to the other members of the tribe and let them know that Russell has the immunity idol, since both of them know that he has it and completely shock Russell by voting him off when he isn't expecting it. That man has got to go. As far as the players that I think are strong enough to make it to the end, I can think of three but the last one is really a wildcard. Normally by this point in the season I feel like I know enough about all of the players to really be able to say who I think have staying power, but this season has had so much emphasis on Russell H that I really don't feel like I know most of the players. 1. Mick 2. Jaison 3. Shambo 4. Wildcard

I believe that is the concensus. We just have not had the time to spend with the other tribe to make a knowledgable determination who on that team is playing the game well.

I was so happy that they finally came together as a team and got rid of Ben. Shambo seemed like a completely different person when she went to visit the other tribe. I think if she makes it to merger she may have a chance. What in the world was Russell S thinking!?! I really thought that he had more common sense than taking the luxery over the needed items! This was a big mistake on his part. No predictions from me yet. I am still trying to get everyones name down. I guess I should just watch the show rather then tryin to work on the computer at the same time as watching.

Shambo is a more fun person than I first thought as well. Not all that smart, but more fun. I have the week 4 discussion up now too so you can comment there for last weeks show.

I was very upset last Thursday, that I did not get to see the show, except for the end when they were voting off the next one...glad to see i was Ben. So unfortunately I don't have much feed back and I have to remain with the original 4 that I posted the last time: Russel H Russel S Jason Ashley It appears that they are still there, and I hope to see them on this week, to see if I change my mind.

One thing to remember is that they do air all the full episode at CBS.com so if you miss one you can watch the whole thing online. Week 4 discussion is up now too.
