Hi Friends, I'm planning to purchase about 4 desktop computers. The pcs are needed only for data entry purposes, like image file conversion to ms-word and basic computings etc. I shall be grateful, if anybody can give me some pointers regarding the basic configurations needed, whether TFT monitors or CRT monitors etc.

If you are going to use only for those purposes means you need not think for any configuration all just go basic model with minimum configuration like CRT monitors, 80Gb hard disk and 512mb ram with pentium 4 processor will do.. this is just my advise..

i think for just simple work you do not need to go for highend system. that is your own choice whether to choose CRT and TFt. they both are the monitors. TFT looks better, take lesser space but costly, other side CRT is cheap comparatively but you have to put them in extra space now about configuration for the work you are looking for. simply you can go for P4 if available or celeron. it will cose less. you can go for AMD also. they will perform good and cheaper. harddrive is not needed more than 80 gb and 512MB of RAM is enough for the purpose goodluck

i think..you will need a good configuration system...and that is....TFT moniter, 360 GB hard disk, 2 GB if Ram, Dvd Writer, Multimedia Keyboard and mouse, i think it is best configuration for your system..because you say that you will need it for data entry work..so it is good configuration..
