We just bought my son a bed it was not a huge amount of money about $350 for everything, but that was the last thing we spent a good chunk of money on. How about you what did you spend a lot of money on recently?

The last big money item we purchased for our home was our flat screen television. It was about $950. We have also purchased all the lumber and supplies to make a double loft bed for two of our girls. I know the expense is quite high, though I couldn't begin to say just how much we've paid on it. But, the beds will be nicer and sturdier than any that we could buy in a store, so I'm happy with the decision to make it. The girls are equally happy seeing as to how they will not only have new beds, but desks and drawers under them.

Hmmm, $350 is equal to about Rs.17,500/ in our Indian money. Quite a big sum. For this sum, you might be able to buy a netbook computer in our country. Of course nowdays a good double bed might cost about $200 to $250, in our country. My last big money item which I purchased was a Mobile phone which cost me rougly about $200/. I bought it ebay.

Nothing recently, maybe about a year ago, a microwave. Before that was both of our vehicles in 2008.

The last big money item I purchased is my Eee PC which I paid about €600 If I remember correctly. I paid it a lot because it's a 12Gb PC and I got it just as soon as it's been relased. I'm happy to have bought it because it's really helpful when I'm studying and I need to look something up on the Internet but the negative thing is I also get distracted a lot by it, I surf the web, check my mail and Facebook when I should be studying eheh

Hi lady I guess the last big purchase for the house was our big screen tv. Well it wasn't the biggest tv but it was a big purchase for us. It got it about a year or so ago and at that time it was 900 dollars. I did enjoy the bigger screen and all its features that it has,but like you said it did take a big chunk of money from our savings. Have a great day and keep smiling..

We paid a lot of money for our last TV too. My husband just had to have it though. But we have had it for about 3 years now.

We just bought our son a bed too. He had a toddler bed and I wanted to get him a twin bed that had a headboard on it and some drawers on the bottom part of the bed. We got it from Walmart and it was about $160 I think and then we had to buy him a mattress to go on it that was about $100 and then had to buy sheets and a comforter too. I can't remember how much the sheets were but I got the comforter on sale at Target for about $15.

A friend of ours (the one who introduced me and my husband to each other) got married on one of the southern islands and I'd say our trip (4-day stay) there is the most recent big money (for us) splurge we've made. We're still paying for it, lol.

The last big item we bought was my car. I have nothing to show for it but did loan one of our kids a big chunk of money. Probably won't ever see it again but guess that's life! We haven't really bought anything for the house in a very long time. I do need to buy a new bed but not in a big hurry.

Just two days ago I purchased an LG 32 inch flat screen tv for $395. The tv originaly cost $450 but I found a deal online and the store I bought it from honored the price match for me. Thats the biggest thing I purchased so far this year. I'll spend more money on Christmas though.

Have purchased a PS3 for my son. I guess thats worth a lot money for me last December. I also given my wife a gift certificate for an exclusive workout in an expensive gym near our house. Quite expensive as I'm the one paying the monthly dues. My consolation is that shes in shape all the time.

I just paid my rent in full for a whole year...about $8000. It was hard to part with a check that large, but at least I won't have to worry about paying rent month after month.

This past month I have been trying to slowly but surely furnish my apartment. I don't have much, but I'm already broke. I bought a bed for $530, a couch for $200, and a table for $150. And I still need a tv and tv stand and dresser and coffee table and nightstands and lamps...oh dear independence is not cheap.

Our last big money item we purchased was our house a year ago. Ever since then we haven't been able to find money to buy anything else but the necessities. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a house right now in this ecomony and unfortunately I don't think it's going to get any better anytime soon.
