Cheese... Which type of cheese you prefer?

Greece

Cheese is a type of food that we use all the time. The ones that don't have allergic reac tions to it, I mean. Which type of cheese do you prefer, and why? Where do you prefer to use it? I personally prefer grana padano and the famous greek cheese "feta", but "feta" has lots of types and I prefer the ones that are lightly flavoured, almost creamy and has a taste of pepper.

My favorite cheese is Boursin. From what I believe, it's a French cheese made of cream cheese, garlic and some herbs. I usually eat it with grapes and apples. So, so, so good!!! Cream cheese is also a favorite of mine. I spread it on bread, add it to my lasagna and sometimes, I just eat it as is. I super love cheeses, even the odd-smelling ones. Haha! Although, I feel a little guilty at times since it's so fattening.

Yes, you should try the cheeses I have mentioned above, especially Boursin! Cheers to cheese. Yum! There are lots of cheeses available and they vary on different countries. Usually the taste would depend on the climate, age and ingredients available in the area.

God, I have never tasted cariboo's cheese. I will try to find some. You made me wonder how this one tastes. I like mozarella also, but not fresh. I like it cooked. I prefer it in the sauce of a spaghetti I invented and in pizza.

I tend to like the firm, snack cheeses most. My all-time favorite is muenster, but I also enjoy gouda, edam, brick, cheddar and others. There are very few cheeses that I dislike, in fact.

I never heard of this muenster cheese. Which country produces it? And by which milk? I think I will begin to explore all new types of cheese every one mentions.

I believe it is made here in the USA. It is a light yellow cheese with a dark yellow edible rind. It is a bit more expensive than other cheeses, but worth it. It may not be available in your country. When I lived in Romania I couldn't find most of the cheeses that I was used to eating, for example.

Yes, that's what cheddar is. A delicious kind of cheese that when it melts is like a smooth cream in your mouth. What have you done to me? I have to go to super market.

Well, in my toasts, pizzas etc I used to use cheddar also. But a month ago, I went to the super market and a friend of mine that works there told me to try a new type of greek kaseri, very light and melts nicely and it's very tasty. It's a greek one. It's called "logadi ipiros". If you can find greek products maybe you will find this one too.

I like provolone, but I really only use it on sandwiches. Otherwise I go for Parmesan or mozzarella, Which I use in cooking. And then there's that cheddar substitute, Velveeta, that doesn't get greasy when you melt it. I really do love most cheeses though.

1st: Yes, parmesan is a type of cheese and an expensive one (at least here in Greece) 2nd: Feta has many different types, and it's very natural to not like a type. 3rd: I liked that you actually hate cheese and although you answered to my post. Thanks.

My brother had found once monterrey in a super market chain in Athens, and we had purchased at about 2 or 3 kilos. But we couldn't find it again. It's really a nice cheese.

I love all sorts of cheese (not good for my figure). If I am having cheese on toast or a sandwich then I like cheddar. I love parmesan on pasta. I will use a mix of cheese in my lasagna usually ricotta, mozarella and parmesan. In Bulgaria where I am currently living sheeps cheese called cirene is very popula. There are 100's of types of this cheese my favourite is called junavia which is a smooth white cheese.
