What Would You Stuff A Pinata With?

My husband gave me a wonderful idea to order a pinata for the kids for Christmas. OK they're not our kids, they are our step-nieces and nephews (my step-brother and wife, and step-sister and husband have 2 and 3 kids respectively). We bought some really neat candies with "Merry Christmas, Love [our names]" on them, and we are going to get some other things, other candies and little toys to stick in there. Any suggestions? We need things small enough to fit in the little hole in the top. LOL It's like a foot long, 6 inches wide, 9 inches high (or there abouts) in the shape of a treasure chest. For whatever reason I don't like the idea of whacking something that looks like an animal, or has a face on it, so I bought the treasure chest. I almost bought a chili pepper, which would have been cool, but I thought the chest looked bigger, so we went with that.

My daughter had a Pinata one year at her birthday party. We stuffed it with candy. But we also put stickers and pencil erasers in it as well. It was really fun watching the kids scatter! May have to do that again sometime!

There are MANY ideas that you could fill the pinata with, expecially since it's for Christmas. Of course, filling it with candy is a tradition you just never change. With that in mind, I think the best type of candies are the ones that somehow tie to the theme of Christmas. Personally, I would steer clear of chocolate as there is a chance it could melt, and liquified chocolate is no fun for anybody. Thus, if it were my pinata (and from the sounds of it, I wish it was), I would fill that thing with candy canes, lollies and a whole range of treats. For gift ideas, I would add a bunch of small gift vouchers (maybe wrapped around the candies) for a range of shops. Since you're dealing with kids, they will happy to receive anything from a store that offers toys and such. And the gift vouchers don't even have to be particularly expensive, $5 will be more than sufficient. No matter what you do, I'm sure it will be a brilliant pinata and the kids will love it. Merry Christmas now ;)

Well, a lot of times what I have seen in Pinatas around here when people do them for Parties a lot of times is Candy mostly, but I have seen some with change in them, little toys, and other things. One place you might consider looking for ideas is http://www.orientaltrading.com I have bought things from them many times and their prices are definately of good value as well. But this sounds like Fun doing a Pinata for sure.

There are lots of little toys and items you can put in there. Playing cards, trading cards, lip gloss, jewelery, gift certificates, gift cards, money. You can find lots of items at the dollar store or in Oriental Trader. I have to admit this is a great idea one I may just steal from you. Thank you for sharing I am always looking for something new and unique to do for Christmas

I would go to a dollar store and check out stuff they have. Party favors that are small would work good.

You could buy books of gift certificates from places like McDonalds and roll them into little scrolls and put them in. It would be a nice addition to little toys and treats.

I don't know... pencils and erasers? Or maybe toothbrushes, after all that candy.

I see others have suggested pencils and erasers, too. Great minds think alike.

Maybe pens, stuff animals , and playing cards. When I was small we always celebrated birthdays by stuffing a lot of gifts inside a pinata.

Pinatas are a blast and the kids love them. A friend of mine does it for her grandkids for their birthdays and puts candy in them for them and all the other kids. They sell party toys for the kids......rings and things that might work.....or stickers that you could roll up and stuff in it. They should have a great time with it but be sure that the place you hang it is secure. We even did it at school one time over the light fixtures and it worked just fine!! Have fun with it........mini erasers, tiny finger puppets, you could almost put markers and pencils in it if the kids are big enough!!

Candy. Some things you just don't change! A pinata without candy just doesn't cut it! Kind of like Halloween and you get granola bars!!! I'l lnever forget giving those out one year and the groans I heard when the kids saw what they were getting... I heard them all! SOmetimes you just have to keep the status quo and not progress. Candy in a pinata.. small pieces so that when it breaks open, lots fall out and lots for many!

Money is always fun to find in a pinata, you could also put in coupons that let them stay with you or hang out with you. Kids love to feel like grown ups. Have fun.

lol I like your unique style! I have never thought of anything else to put in pinatas except for candies. I think it would be cool to put some other little trinkets in there also. Hmm I can't think of anything right now, but I'm sure you'll find somthing neat!
