I love cooking and want to learn more recipes. Most of the time, I do make experiments to make my recipe more attractive and palatable. One time, I thought of not putting a monosodium glutamate (msg) to the food and I found it good as well.So since I started that practice, I learned to enhance my cooking style without it (msg). But there are some, who's cooking can't be completed without seasoning. How about you, can you cook without monosodium glutamate(msg)?

I never use msg in any of my dishes. I use other spices and things to add flavor to my food. Msg is not good for ones body.

I've never used it in my cooking; I don't think I ever will. Having said that, my efforts last night were rather abominable, so perhaps I should dig some out... I think MSG is the lazy option, myself. I'll just learn to cook!

Monosodium Glutamate - cooking with MSG?
Hi, there. This is a good topic to tackle. Every time i cook I use more spices and herbs to make my dish more tasty rather than using monosodium glutamate. We can't deny the fact that dishes with MSG is more tasty than natural ingredients. My mom hates it when i don't use MSG, we often argue about the negative effect of MSG in our body but she still insist. So, now I'm cooking with MSG on it.(sigh)

I can't! Though it is rumored that msg contributes to any long-term health problems like Alzheimer's disease. I just love my dishes to have monosodium glutamate but I am into putting small amount only. Too much of it can cause harm and danger to the body.

That was a good question. Before, we don't about the contents of msg. After we discovered that it has an ingredient that can destroy cells of human, we stopped using that msg. There are some seasoning that is better than msg. So, I suggest, don't use that kind of seasoning if you don't want to reduce your life span. Just a suggestion but I'm telling the truth about msg.

Hi brenyrra I do not ever use monosodium glutamate as it poisons me. I am highly allergic to it and if I eat any in any food I get what is called anaphylactic shock. Mythroat swells up and I have trouble breathing. So I never eat at any cafe that uses it andI always ask first.

It is very easy to cook without MSG! In fact, I've never heard of people cooking and intentionally putting it into their food! But anyways, use other spices such as garlic, onions, basil, oregano, soy sauce, salt, pepper, curry powder, etc.

I get migraines from MSG so I never use it in my cooking. I also don't go to restaurants that use msg or eat foods with it in them. I often use parsley, oregano and cumin in my dishes and this gives it a wonderful taste. I enjoy adding herbs and parsley has many health benefits.
