India have beaten Sri Lanka and have become the No.1 Test playing nation. Do you think Team India can hold onto this spot?

I am very happy that India are no.1 test playing test nations. But to hold this spot for months, its very difficult! But I wish that India will remain no.1 for ever.

India deserved to be No1! After all, under MS Dhoni India yet to lose a test match! Well, it is the combined talent and effort of players that made India to achieve this position. At the same time it is to be observed that, the gap between the top 3 or 4 teams is very narrow unlike in old years when Australia had a big margin of difference with other teams. This shows that all the top teams or competing well and one or two bad series can affect any team. Let India enjoy this moment of achievement and get inspired to work on keeping the No1 slot for a long time! Happy Mylotting!

It has been a great achievement for India to reach the No.1 Test team. But the only two blemishes is the fact that India has not won in Australia or South Africa yet. Also, it is usually easier to reach the top, but much more difficult to stay at the top. That would be the crucial test for India. I think they should be able to stay there if they can conjure up wins against Australia and South Africa on a regular basis. Cheers! Ram

Yes, congratulations to the Indian team in getting the 1st spot but you should remember that they have done it on our home soil. Don`t forget that just a little while back they lost to a new look Aussie team with a number of inexperienced players and who were playing for the first time in India. However India will have to carry on doing this consistently not only here but also on foreign soil and for that we have a very down-to-earth captain, as he said while speaking to Ravi Shastri, that the hard work will begin from now onwards. Getting to the top is not the criterion, retaining it is the difficult part and for that the entire team will have to fire on all counts every time they play and not individually but as a team.

Yes India finally did it. It is a very happy thing to have happened, but sustaining the no.1 position is little difficult for any nation. Hope India remains no.1 for ever.

For some time India can hold it as India is going to play Test match series with Bangladesh whcih is very weak team compared to other teams. But India has to show his strength oustside of Asian Pitches. Because record is very bad there...
