Hello friends, many people remain faithful to one job or company throughout their lives and do not change it till they retire. Such people are unambitious. There are many who keep on changing jobs perhaps because they are not happy or because the pay is too less or because they get better emoluments when they constantly change them. some people are very restless and take up another job and another and so on. During my working carrer i changed 7 jobs because everytime i did so i got better pay. Finally i got a job abroad and worked there for 4 years. At that time i got paid about 8 times more than what i was getting in my country. After returning back i started my own business and then finally retired from it. What about you ,my dear friends?

i always wanted to get stuck to one job , whenever i found a person saying that i left that job and now i am doing this , i used to think he is not a wise person as he is changing his job again and again but when i started doing job then i realized that getting stuck to one job is a waste as you talent will not get to much importance as much it deserved so then i switched to changing jobs and really now i am very happy and like the way i am going in my life as this is much better than the previous one.So i will suggest everyone to explore your talent by changing company.this is just my opinion

Yes , but once you find a job that suits you and gives you job satisfaction as well as good pay its better to stick to it.If you find that you have scope to grow within the company then better keep working there otherwise after gaining good experience you can scout for another job which will give you a chance to showcase your talents. You are still very young and have a bright future, so good luck.

Your profession is such that it does not need a change of jobs since you can get a veriety of experience since patients come to hospitals with different complaints. I too became disabled with Muscular dystrophy when i was studying to become an architect however after graduation i worked for over 20 years and finally retired when i could work no more. Since you were in the medical profession you know what difficulties a person afflicted with MD faces. I changed a few jobs also because i found the working environment not conducive to my self and also because of my affliction i did not get the pay which otherwise i would have got if i had been completely fit.

I stuck with one job for many years and it worked out very well for me, I was made redundant and was able to retire very early in my life but I have a friend I admire so much because she has worked in so many different areas she is very skilled in a lot of things, sometimes I wish I had have done that.

I think that when a person is first starting out in the job industries, their is a tendency for many transitions. The teenager who first starts out finds that what they expected to be a piece of cake is in fact not. I've changed jobs many times because of being fired, or quitting. My recent job I will not quit from because it is something that I feel is very enjoyable. All I need do is clean, and prepare meals for a family member. I can sit down and watch t.v. or read most of the time, of which I really enjoy doing.

Hi.. I am working since 2.5 years.. and this is my second job.. I am planning to change the job now but waiting for a better job and package than the current one.. but due to recission I am bit scared to change the job because normally in a new company job security is less for the new comers now a days..

Hello chaitra, how are you? My advice is to stick to your present job even if the pay is low since the job situation is dicey at present.Better to have a bird in hand than two in a bush, isn`t it?

I'm pretty faithful to the jobs I've had. Even if I feel like I'm not being treated well or paid enough, I usually stay until a strong force pulls me away. I'm not sure if it's me being faithful, or just not liking to start over and learn a new job. Even if I'm qualified, I'm always nervous starting a new job. I like routine and prefer to stay in my comfort zone.

In my 15 years of working, I changed job only thrice and my presnet job is for 11 years running. I dont think people who stagnate are always unambitious...they might have their own reasons too like me. When I joined this company, my child was a baby and this company provided excellent facilites in terms of working hours, weekend off and not much work pressure. I could ideally balance between home and office and earn money too...this is the prime reason why I have never looked for other options, even though the pay offered was much better. To me the family comes first and since being a woman I am not the primary breadwinner, I think I could afford to stay back.

sudipta, kemon acchho? Bhalo? Good for you. You are lucky to have had a good job so stick with it.Yes, for a woman the family is important and after that the job. Nowadays too many women especially in urban areas have become career orientated, neglecting their family and children in the process, thats why the children grow up without the love and affection which they dearly need in their younger days leading them to go astray.

i was already working when i was still on my 2nd year college. unfortunately here in our country, there is a lot of contractual employees. that means when you apply in an agency and got hired by a company, you'll last for that job for only 5 months and the agency will look for another company for you to work for. and companies wont hire undergrad applicants during that time. since i dont have any degree, i have no other choice but to accept it just to finish my studies. after college, i got 3 jobs. the least time i stayed was, 1 year and the most is 3 years. good offers were the reasons why i job hopped. at exactly 30 years old, ive already established my computer business and doing some part time jobs. the moment a long term business welcomes me, il be retiring probably. merry christmas veejay19.

I worked for the same organisation for 31 years having a total of 15 jobs with them. I joined as a labourer and left as a senior executive and Head of my profession. Like you I travelled the World (even getting to India and Nepal). I never made a fortune but I had a very good and interesting career - at least until the final two years when we were taken over and they decided to force out the "dinosaurs" like me.

Well I believe in sticking with one company for certain period and if my needs are fulfilled then I will surely stick that company as long as I can. Frequent changing of jobs is sometimes good for some but sometimes it changing the job will also is not good and sometimes getting a job becomes tough because of this type of attitude.. My theory is stick with one company and learn all the skills as much as we could and when after 10 years are so if the company is not paying properly or not getting good knowledge then it is time to quit..

I worked at 6 different jobs between 1952 and 2000 when I retired. Length of service at each job varied from 3 months to 20 years. Sometimes I changed jobs for better pay, and sometimes it was for other reasons. I quit one job to follow my husband because Uncle Sam sent him to another part of the country after he returned from an overseas tour. I quit another job because the boss and I didn't get along. That time my husband followed me.

I am a mum who works part time from home and I’ve had jobs since I was sixteen. My first job was for an airline company followed by a string of different jobs in the banking industry which I hated but could not get out of because there was where my experience laid. After leaving my job to have a baby I returned to study for a while and obtained my freelance journalism diploma and have been working from home writing since then. I have changed a lot of jobs in my life but I don’t believe any job is worth stress so I would move on when I started to become unhappy on the job.

I've changed jobs many times but I've only had 2 main careers in my life. Companies are not as loyal to their employees as they used to be. When you do get hired by an employer you usually find yourself doing more than one job for one salary. So people frequently change companies to get the best or better salary, benefits etc. I think it's more important that you know what kind of work satisfies you and that you stick with that.

I tried joining many jobs but I quit within a week or two. I could never go for a full-time job. It's extremely boring for me. I just can't sit in an office and do some work which is so repetitive and doesn't have anything to do with your creativity. The only job that I stayed long enough was for four months... and I couldn't stand it any longer and I quit. I am jobless today because I just can't find what I like to do... and am not able to convert my passions into a living. So yea.. I am struggling to live for my passions.

Well, I too have had many different jobs in my lifetime. I have done many things and try to think of them all as learning experiences. Some of the jobs I liked but had to give up for some reason or another. while I am not one of those persons you mention that takes one job ans sticks with it their whole life. I do disagree with you that they are unambitious. My aunt got a job when she was 18 for the State of Ct. She started as a clerk and kept moving her way up to the head of payroll and personnel for her department. She got paid over $30 an hour and just retired a few months ago at age 55. She now collects her pension and still gets benefits and makes more (retired) than my stepfather who works federally for the US post office and has done so for almost 20 years.. Unambitious? NO I don't think so.. Smart to stick with it?! yep.. she has enough money in the bank to buy a house in cash. But she live in a small house she rents for only $450 for the last 20 years- they don't even raise her rent. _ ithink she is also VERY lucky! I have finally found a job that I like and is convenient to my home and fits in with my lifestyle. I work 3rd shift and answer phones.- I have been here for 11 years. But I know when I retire I will not even be able to afford to live on what I make from the government and my savings. So I wish I had gotten LUCKY like her and gotten a job that offered so much to an 18 year old!

You are right munx your aunt is one of the lucky ones and i guess you are too since you have stayed in your job for so long. Its mainly job satisfaction that counts and after that the pay. As long as you are satisfied with your job there`s no need to change them.lol and thanks.

I have had many different jobs. I like working with people and I have tried different things: Kindergardens, nursing homes, homes for people with special needs etc. I have never changed jobs to get a higher salary, that has never been very important to me. I always changed jobs because I wanted new challenges, and because I am interested in so many different things. I love working with children, but I also love working with elderly people and people with special needs. In the future I would like to work with people with mental illnesses, I think that would be very interesting as well.

I think i love my current job and actually this is my first job since my university graduation. Before this, i have done some part time job such as a part time teacher for elementary students and today i still do this part time job because my pupils really love to studying with my learning method. So i only do my part time job when my break off time from my current job. I think having a job is really need serious attention from us. We shouldn't easily throwing a job because in this financial crisis era, it's not an easy thing to find a job. So, just do your best at your job no matter whether you love your job or not. Working is not about that thing. Working is about willingness to expanding our experiences, knowledges and skills for our own better life. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I should say you had a successful career in your life. People will change their job to get higher pay and more opportunities. For me I've changed four jobs over this ten working years and finally make me a little settled now. My job now is in a small company, the salary is OK compared with other companies here. I think I'll stay for no short time here.
